Maroma, a privately owned beach, is located in the Mexican State of Quintana Roo along the southeastern coast of the Caribbean Sea. Cheap hotels close to Maroma Beach are located along highway 307 and the beach. There are no hotels on the actual beach since the land between the highway and the beach used to be mainly jungle—the only access was from the sea. You can gain access to the beach by one of the private resort entrances for a breathtaking experience.

Exploring Quintana Roo

Hotels by Maroma are typically in Playa del Carmen, and there is more to do here than you can imagine. Take the whole family swimming with dolphins; tour ancient Mayan ruins; or enjoy coral reefs, a butterfly garden, or aviary. Go zip-lining in the jungle or shop along Fifth Avenue for local arts and crafts. Take a 45-minute ferry across the sea to Cozumel Island and visit Chankanaab National Park to see different varieties of tropical fish. In the main neighborhood of San Miguel, you can find live music and black bean soup with fish tacos to fill your stomach. Burn off any vacation calories by heading north to Cancun, where you can dance the night away in a swanky resort nightclub or a beach cabana.

"BEWARE! This was our 3rd trip to The Grand MP in the last 12 months. This will be our last. Each time we have been, more & more restrictions, less inclusions. They admitted to having higher room categories available yet refused to honour my upgrade. The manager at the front desk, Jesus, was very rude to me. Book something else. This is not the place. No updating has happened to the older buildings. They just completed construction on some of the newer buildings. They look incredible. But the rest of the resort has not been up-kept. The elevator in our building was down the entire stay. There was hair in my son’s food one night at dinner. The mixed drinks have a terrible chemical flavour. Towels weren’t always replaced and we had to call a few times to get some for our showers. If zero was a rating, I’d give it that. I didn’t even use a single dollar of the credits I received - they’re not getting a single cent from me again. "

"Words cannot describe how amazing this resort was. From the incredibly friendly and hospitable staff, especially Carlos during breakfast time. To the cleanliness of the whole entire area. There’s hard working people here maintaining the area, making sure it looks amazing! Every person behind the bars were so sweet and put love into each drink. Each meal was so fresh and made to perfection. Our house keeper Itzel made sure the room was clean and freshened up after our day at the beach. I will absolutely return and will recommend!"
