In the main neighborhood of San Miguel, you can find live music and black bean soup with fish tacos to fill your stomach. Burn off any vacation calories by heading north to Cancun, where you can dance the night away in a swanky resort nightclub or a beach cabana.

"—— Positives —— - Good mix of restaurants, my favorite being Beloved with a balcony overlooking the beach, but you must be a privileged patron to eat there. Mexican of all the foods actually tasted the worst and was extremely dry. - The general jungle theme was very fitting with lots of animals. Had no issues with mosquitoes. - Transportation was efficient and effective. I used NexusTours for arrival and departure. - Room service was free if using Expedia to purchase your trip. - All employees were highly professional, respectful, and kind —— Negatives —— - Rooms seemed a little dated, even the privileged room I was in seemed dated 5216. - Speaking as a non-drinker, all alcoholic beverages were watered down in the different locations that had bars with one exception being the front entry bar which made good/normal drinks. - the seaweed from the golf was extremely prevalent. They have bulldozers cleaning the beach all morning and afternoon to maintain the beach the best they can. March through October seems to be the bad month for the seaweed and when it starts to rot, it smells like rotten eggs. This is not the hotel’s fault. Just understand what you’re going into. - Spa was a little on the expensive side with a couples 50 minute massage running $228 even with a 20% discount from Expedia. Some massages run into the $400 range. Compared to other resorts I have stayed in Turkey or Egypt this was a lower end value."
