It was clean but the workers were not very helpful. We were lied to on more than one occasion. We asked Raul from transportation if he could take me to the Loby instead of leaving me at the shuttle station where the excursion picks up and he said NO that he had something else to take care of. I walked to the Loby and Raul was there hanging out with the luggage guys and 10 minutes later he had his backpack on ready to go home.. On the first day we arrived nothing was explained to us. It was terrible service from the Loby check in man.

I didnt like any of it. Upon arrival the check in girl was rude and made a comment to her friend about us, not knowing I speak Spanish. Then they gave us a room which was not the right room. I payed for a private pool and we did not get that. I asked amd they said the room i wanted sas unavailable unless I took it with no air conditioning. They said if one became available they would let me know, never heard from them. They put my family and I all the way in a corner, far away from everything. The bracelet/key to our room didnt work 3 time's which we had to walk ALL the way to the lobby to get it fixed and in the end it was the door that didnt work. Impossible to make dinner reservations and the food is not good, at all! Bars close very early! Overall not a good experience, would never return to this hotel. Avoid if you can!

Our room had to change twice; once because the room i requested in reservation was unavailable and second time the room was not clean by check in. By the time we got into a room it was 4 pm. Also keep all receipts of purchases until you leave resort. They said i never paid my seek and go excursion when i got there and i know i did even when i showed transaction They couldnt find the receipt on there end so i got charged twice. And toward the ending of the night there so many people trying to get on the shuttle and there is only one that is running which is time consuming especially because you do need to get on the shuttle due to the resort being huge, expect to wait for a while unless you get on the shuttle super early or super late in the evening times.

Only the buffet was good . The restaurants that you needed to make reservation were terrible and definitely not worth it. The transport was a rip off because the butler will say one price and by the time you enter the taxi they were adding you another 100 pesos extra . Checking time took way to long, front desk person upgraded my room, to a platinum tower, room assigned, was in poor condition, bathroom room had a major water leak molding, bedroom walls were also moist with some mold air conditioning not working,, reach front desk they sent maintenance, too way to long to finally get a different room assigned to my family past 8:20pm !!

I would rate this resort 3.5 stars at most. The rooms are spacious, some may comment that it is out of date, I would disagree. It has a Spaniard vibe. However there is never any hot water. Food: we were there for 5 days and could never get into the specialty restaurant that is included (besides the buffet) without having to call and argue with the front desk to get us in. We managed to get into two but that was after hours of discussion and one not even being the restaurant we requested. What was more disappointing is the restaurant were always empty , yet always “booked”. We came with a wedding party and requested if we can reserve a dinner where we all can join in one of the speciality restaurants and nothing was accommodated. The food is average. You get two bottles of water and they do not give you any more even when I’ll request it. We did the romantic spa package. They greeted us horribly and gave us a look. The massage was average. The jetted tub that was included was cold water. The elevators were broken the whole trip, the shows were average. We loved the animals around the resort and the greenery. We loved the bike tour with Jessica. She was informative and sweet. The rooms were cleaned when requested. If I were looking for a 5 star resort in playa de Carmen, I wouldn’t come back to this resort.

This hotel is big, needs to walk about 10 minutes to the beach. The pools and rooms are broken into three sections. Family (furthest out from the beach), adults only/Haciendas/timeshare and Family VIP (extra charge for upgrade) beach front and main pools. The walking gets old after a couple of days. Most of the staff was great with a few exception (pool bar) at the main pool and the photo guy (Arab) they hate their job and their customer service sucked. We stayed at the family area and we were put next to a very noisy family they were kids running and yelling without adult supervision after 11 pm everyday and we call for help and nobody answer. Room service food is limited and below average. Overall we had a good time and will stay here again but knowing what to expect will be easier to manage (pay extra and stay beachfront) so teenagers don’t complaint bruh. We didn’t dine here due to the long list for reservations.

The Staff was real informative and friendly. Especially the waiters at the restaurants. We were happy when we arrived that they offered us a free upgrade to a bigger room (Hacienda). Unfortunately the room smelled like mold. I woke up during the night our first night and found the asile and around the king bed had water all over the ground. My luggage and a few other things got completely wet. There seemed to be an issue with the AC. When we called about the issue to guest services they assured us a fix to the problem and never heard back until my wife called back at the end of the Second night. Their solution was to have the cleaning crew put 3 garbage cans underneath the water drops. On the third night they sent a repair man out while we were all getting ready for lunch and I asked him if he could wait while we got ready he seemed upset. My wife called to see if we could get moved to a different room but we never heard back until our last night st the resort. We mentioned this to the service desk as we were checking out and they honestly didn’t seem to care. It’s inexcusable to have to deal with these issues. You plan and pay to go on a vacation and these issues are the last thing that are on your mind to have to deal with. I’m being generous giving 2 stars. My wife wanted me to give 1 star. Only reason I gave 2 is because the staff at the restaurant were great!

Pros: Nice rooms even at the basic level, beautiful grounds and walkways, a trolley btw buildings, bars everywhere, very clean adult pools, best buffet food I’ve had at an all inclusive, good beds, 24/7 room service, kind helpful staff, help with taxis and luggage service. Cons: So many areas exclude children and non Royal Elite members, only one trolley for a huge resort and thousands of people, 20-25 min wait per trolley, 10 min walk from family area to the buffet or any food area you could really get into, almost non existent ability to get speciality dining reservations, understaffed in restaurants and family pool area, no service to chairs on the beach, ocean was having a sargassum bloom so very dirty, 15 min walk from the low level family area to the family pool. If you wanted closer it was much more $$. The family pool area was not very clean and very crowded bc it was only pool kids were really allowed in. Go to guest services to make speciality reservations, not the app. Buffet was really the only place you could eat. Room service menu was hard for gluten free or kids options. Elevators still broke after weeks of complaints. Overall- I loved the resort but I wouldn’t go back with kids. It was just too big and poorly set up to get around with your kids. Frustrating when they were tired. It’s also frustrating that it’s advertised with so much, then you get there and only the elite members can use it. I would go back without kids but pay more to be closer
