We booked 9 nights here thinking we’d get the relaxing, all-inclusive vacation we paid for. Instead, we got a nightmare. Our room smelled like mildew, the AC leaked so badly we had to keep a trash can under it the entire stay, and the bathroom was crawling with bugs. Guest services brushed us off until day 7 then only offered to move us because they wanted to swap our TV. The food? A disaster. The buffet was closed except for breakfast, almost every restaurant needed impossible reservations, and the few options left were terrible. The Italian place was so bad we literally spit out the food and left. We ended up booking excursions just to avoid being stuck at the hotel. On checkout day, construction crews were ripping apart the room next to us, and then the hotel tried to hold us over a missing bracelet and make us pay for it. After everything we went through, that was the final slap in the face. We come to Playa every year and love it but this resort was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had. If you’re looking for an stress-free vacation, look anywhere else.

The staff here was so welcoming and nice. The room was clean and it’s right on the beach. Only things I didn’t like were the restaurant hours, the activities aren’t very interesting, and there’s no working ATM on property. We ran out of cash to tip and had no way to get more money, not fair to the staff!!

Our family had a great time and enjoyed the resort. If you are looking for "in-resort" nightclubs or dance clubs, this really isn’t the place BUT they do have music and shows at night, and it is a good time. As much as we were looking forward to night action we didn’t need it. We were in bad and exhausted most nights from the daytime activities and drinking at the pool. Their daytime activities are a blast, the crew really gets into their job, and they have fun with you! I would recommend this resort.

2-3 star resort sold as 5 star. Within the first hour, before we were given our room keys a “concierge” aggressively pushed us to attend a timeshare presentation at a “sister resort” disguised as an excursion. Checked out less than 24 hours after arrival (purchased a 4 night stay.) and stayed at a different hotel for the rest of our time in Mexico. The upgraded privilege suite was in a building furthest from the oceanfront. The buffet looked questionable. The privilege restaurant probably would have been fine but only tried their breakfast. Our room’s air conditioning and refrigerator struggled to work and did not get cold. Request for ice took 4 hours to be delivered by room service. Finishings in the suite were just ok and looked DIY. The resort is clean. Landscaping is pretty. Building structure layout doesn’t allow breeze to flow. This hotel should be marketed as a 3 star all inclusive. The staff was wonderful but locals are always sweet and helpful.

We absolutely loved our stay here, all of the staff was so amazing especially Ken, Victor, Alejandro, Ana, and Roberto. Upon arrival we were impressed by how pretty the property was, lots of wildlife, the property is very very clean too. Our room was great and felt updated, AC was amazing. The various restaurants were all great, my favorite was probably the italian night but buffet was kind of oily. we did not get the privilege package but it didn’t feel like we missed out on much. We came during sargassum season and didn’t feel like it impacted our stay much. We did so much around the town and went to isla mujeres and cozumel for the beaches. since it was slow season it was actually nicer because there were less people in and out of the resort, very quiet. I came with ~25 year old students and it seemed like the perfect amount of nightlife in the resort, nothing crazy, the karaoke and beach party were my favorite. want to just say the staff was so extremely nice. I fell on an excursion and really f***ed up my knee and the staff helped me clean it every night without making me feel stupid. i really appreciated that! Lastly, there was a miscommunication when i ordered some wine and flowers for my partner when it turned out they don’t do flower service, i wasn’t mad but when i brought it up to see if i could just get a partial refund roberto told me to go enjoy the beach party and show then go back to my room and there was roses and swan towels! really made us feel special
