I've stayed at Cocobeach many times because it is relatively small, location is good, rooms are fine and price is reasonable . Unfortunately I have also witnessed the resort moving in a wrong direction. Most obvious: it seems like the dining room staff was cut in half. Most of the time I had to wait to be seated. In the old days during breakfast hours I was constantly attended to by waiters offering coffee and water; on my last visit I would be lucky to get even one cup of coffee. If I was able to get bacon for breafast I considered myself fortunate. Same for dinner. Quality of the food is still pretty good. It just seems like they need more staff for the number number of guests.

Arriving at the property we were excited to get cheked in after traveling all day to get to Playa del Carmen. Upon getting checked in the rep tried to upsell us on the bracelets for access to the beach only bar (not worth it). The property is dilapidated and run down. Two of the 4 rooms we booked in total were located in the north wing. The rooms on the north side smelled like sewer. We asked to be moved and were advised that there was no other availability. The rooms we requested wth King size beds, and we were all given two double-size beds. We complained about the rooms not being representative of the online pictures and were told that the pictures are used as promotional advertisements (which is misleading). Again, the property and rooms are old and dilapidated. Finally they agreed to move one of the sewer smelling rooms to the south wing, We were stuck with our rooms since they did not have availability. The food and drinks were ok, nothing to rave about. Truly disappointed in our choice of hotel and our stay. The pictures are not representaitve of the property in my opinion. I will say some of the staff members were nice and accomodating. The representative at the front desk could use some training.

The stay was good. The staff did not appear very knowledgeable about the activities around. I found the communication difficult. Tony, who has a little stand right outside the resort, was very helpful in booking various activities for us. The room was spacious, but noisy from the kitchen underneath and the diving school on the property. If you dont mind being woken up at 5 am, then this is the place to stay. The AC is loud when running.

We’ ve had a blast for the last 7 days of staying in this resort. Everything on top! Outstanding views and beach with clean lazur water. Beautiful clean place, wonderful people working there. Amazing how well organized these people are. Open bar breakfast lunch and dinner restaurant serves delicious fresh food. Waitresses so friendly and kind. You can feel welcome in any way. Everyday new meals, new menu. Entertainment crew, the best, Borys, Kenneth and others! Also the tour guy Antonio ( from the beach) excellent, professional services! Keep doing the great job! The room was spotlessly cleaned every day. As multiple time return guest we got a bottle of red wine, chocolate covered strawberries, and a little cheese tray. It always makes us feel special. The pool is outstanding and with the small size of the hotel it never seems crowded. The staff is AMAZING! We arranged an excursion to Isla Majeures through their travel consultant in the lobby and it went off perfectly. Couldn't be happier. We have stayed there at least one or two weeks a year for the last 8 - 9 years. We will continue to do that indefinitely. We love the place.

The hotel was nice. Areas were clean. All of the staff were courteous and friendly. One issue though was at the Italian restaurant there was only one wine you could buy by the glass. You could also buy a 750ml bottle. They said it was not available by the glass. The said they would discount a bottle. Ended up with a 375ml bottle and charged me the same as the 750ml bottle.

I arrived with a group of seven and was told our rooms were unavailable because the roof was “falling in” in our assigned wing and would be fixed the next day. We were relocated to a sister hotel 15 minutes away. The process of checking in, relocating, and repeating the same process the following day cost us two full days of travel time. When I asked staff about the roof issue, no one seemed aware of it, and we never saw any construction or repairs taking place. This raised concerns about transparency and made it feel like the hotel was simply overbooked. While issues can happen, the lack of communication and disruption to our trip made this stay very disappointing.

The room smelled like mold. The walls are paper thin, could hear the people above us every night. Food wasn't great for all exclusive, had to eat off of the resort most days. The resort tries to sell you time shares constantly. There is no water available other than warm mattalic tasting bottle fill stations on the resort. Very disappointed
