DO NOT GO! Upon arrival, we paid an extra $500 to upgrade our three rooms to ocean-view accommodations. While the view was beautiful, the room itself was not. We understand that seaweed odors are beyond the resort’s control, but we later learned our room was located near an area where sewage drained onto the property. The smell was overwhelming. To make matters worse, the air conditioning and ceiling fan were not working properly. We reported the issue and were told it had been fixed, but that night the room remained unbearably hot and the odor was so awful that I went to the front desk at 1 a.m. to request a room change. After fighting with the staff, we were finally moved. The next morning met with management to refund the $500 upgrade fee, they refused. Instead, they moved us to the “Privileged” section, but the restaurant was fully booked for our the remainder of the stay. The biggest disappointment came when our party of seven ate at the Japanese restaurant. Every one of us got FOOD POISONING and we spent our final day of vacation in bed. Management did NOTHING. Unfortunately, we found the food quality throughout the resort to be AWFUL. Despite the numerous issues, the resort offered no meaningful compensation. The one exception was OSCAR at the concierge desk, was amazing. genuinely cared about our experience. Between the room conditions, awful food, lack of responsiveness from management, and illness that affected our entire group WE HAD THE WORST TIME EVER
