Book a hotel near El Mirador, Cozumel

"Resort is set in a lush jungle-like swtting with rooms in small buildings (4 rooms per building). Nice comfortable rooms in good condition and clean. Good food at restaurants and good selection at buffets. Usually a special lunch served by the beach/pools. Good beach with some shade if you want it. Activities for adults and kids daily and nightly shows were ok. Downsides - sewage smell near area where nightly shows held; we were subjected to a sales pitch upon arrival; little to no hot water in showers - fairly minor items overall."

"I don't usually do reviews but this needs attention. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our room. Pools were nice and large. Leo and Cesar in activities were great. So much so that my son remembered Leo from 2 years ago. Waiters Aldo and Aljeondro were true professionals and the highlight of this property. That is were the pleasantries end. Room to large with rock hard beds. No AC available had to argue with staff to get a fan. Bath had a mild dew smell to it. We were in the older section so hopefully the newer section is better. There is a serious lack of pride in the resort ie cigarette butts on the pool deck, pool deck has trash on it from the day before, sand/trash on the steps and maintenance walking by it as they were staining railing.
