"Nice hotel, close to the beach"
We have been staying at Casa Del Mar for the past 10 years. The rooms are nice and comfortable. Good view from our room. The food is reasonably priced and is good. The wait staff is usually very good , but this year they were not as attentive as they have been in the past. I am hoping this was just a fluke and they will be back to their excellent service next year. The housekeeping staff is very good as is the desk staff. There is a walkway to the beach that is very convenient. It cost about $10 for a cab to town. My husband and I always walk back after dinner which offers beautiful scenery.

"1st Year Wedding Anniversary"
Initially when we got to our swim up suite, it was not to our expectations. The location was good and view was nice. The room however was outdated, had a very strong moldy not musty odor. After using the sink, discovered that the faucet was not secure and it also had a leak which was found after almost falling from water being in the floor. We went to the preferred concierges office and explained the problem. They upgraded us to a preferred oceanfront room the next day which was very nice and the rest of the trip went without any issue. The staff at the Secrets Aura went out of the way to make your trip great. They were very helpful and kind. A very special thank you goes out to Wendy, Sis and Gilberto at the Market Cafe. They were WONDERFUL and they worked with me daily to teach me Spanish!. If you are looking for a very quaint and quiet resort that is not full of the wow factor then this resort will satisfy you. The facility was nicely decorated (basic) and clean but could use some face-lifts. All of the meals that we had were very good and had not problems with service. We enjoyed being able to snorkel right off the pier at the resort and saw many different species of aquatic life. I will continue to adventure out and use this chain of resorts which we have done in the past but will probably not return to this facility since we like to experience different places.

"Nice but consider a few things"
When I booked our vacation I went for the $20 cheaper per night room...BAD IDEA! Upon check in it was on the top floor of the older portion of the hotel which I was told was being renovated. Our room door was open and unlocked upon arrival and it had an overall feeling of unpleasant and uncomfortable. Before dinner I asked if there were any other rooms available. I am a creature of comfort and for $225 for the week we moved to the new building on the top floor with an ocean view. Well worth the extra money! The beach, pool and overall service at the resort was nice. While I understand catering for an uncertain amount of guests can be difficult we saw a lot of the same food recycled in the buffet restaurant. It became tiring and even the room service menu was based on what they served for lunch. They say they have 5 restaurants but there are only 2 and it is based on where they move it (location). The "nice" restaurant requires a dress code and getting a 10 yro to wear pants and closed shoes when its hot and humid doesn't work. We got burned out fast on the food. The resort staff were great! The transportationh kiosk group I used was unimpressive, the gentleman that was my contact was a bit terse because I didn't check in right away to "buy" excursions and got angry when we checked out early on our departure day because our "ride" which was a taxi was coming later and we wanted to go early.

My family and I just experienced Melia in Cozumel. We truly loved it!! Where to start???........Lets do an outline: 1)Food The buffet was the BOMB!! We had from delicious T-Bone Steak to Homemade Omelets!! Being from Nebraska where the BEEF is Awesome is saying a lot. Not very thick. Lets not go overboard here but very tasty. The entire Buffet was incredible. Heres a secret for you...if you request from the waiter true blue ice will receive it and its wonderful. Your kids will love it. 2)Sleep Beds are very comfortable while the rooms NEED updated. I think that was the only downside. Rooms very clean however. 3)Staff Very Very Very kind and helpful staff 4)Booze Bacardi light and dark rum and Jim Beam. However if you venture into the Lobby Bar in the evenings they have Crown Royal and Don Juilio Teq. 5)Beach Very long nice, clean beach. Facing the ocean if you walk next door to the left you can snorkel in beautiful clear water. Bring your snorkel gear. 6)No lines Being a smaller resort we did not experience waiting in lines for anything. From the bar to the buffet....NO lines. 7)Quacamole(not sure how to spell) Fresh everyday in the outside snack and lunch area just next to the beach bar. All said and done we really enjoyed the 10 day stay and may go back very soon. Hope your not disappointed!!!

"Newly renovated, clean, friendly staff, great food"
This newly renovated hotel has a modern décor with very clean rooms. Stayed in King Suite room 608 with a great view of the ocean. Housekeeping staff does wonderful job. Food was great at the buffet and Asian restaurant. The Mexican restaurant was decent, skip the Italian. Staff goes out of their way to please you, as it should be. Just far enough out of downtown to be quiet, but not too far to be inconvenient. A very relaxing stay at a great 4 star venue, would go back in a heartbeat.

"Rained every day, but Hotel is great"
Ok, now you know that it rained every day. Hardly the hotel's fault. The hotel itself, amenities, service, and staff were all excellent. This is the 5th time I stayed at this hotel. I will stay there again. It is kept up very well. It is the most expensive hotel in Cozumel, but you get what you pay for.
