Our room was the best part of our stay. It was actually a 2 room suite. On one side was our king bed with a full bath and a balcony over-looking the ocean and cruise ships. On the other side was a complete kitchen with all kitchen appliances, dining table and another deck over-looking the ocean. Both sides had separate thermostats with separate A/C units. This was the best room we have stayed at out of all our travels. The wait staff, the cleaning staff and the bar tenders were all great. The front desk staff were horrible. We never could get a clear answer to our questions about anything. Either that or we would get conflicting answers. Each meal had a buffet in the dining room. Much of the food from the buffet was inedible. The few times I ate from the buffet I got ill. When we asked whether or not we would be able to order from the menu we were told by some that we could but by others we couldn't. Bottom line most of the food with exception of the bar food menu was horrible. The pool was very cold but nice sized. The "hot tub" was mostly cool or lukewarm. However when there were multiple cruise ships docked in front of the resort many of the passengers would hang out at our resort for a fee which packed our pool. Over all I could only rate this place a D and we will NEVER return.

Staff set out to please , very attentive. Room was very clean. Wish had more food varieties at dinner and breakfast, lunch was very good with made to order food. People from cruise ships killed the calm vibe at the beach during the day. I would return again just know what to expect now. There is no resort that is perfect .

Staff and food were great! Snorkeling in front of the hotel was great. Balconies were nice. Kids enjoyed seeing the big cruise ships come and go. Not a huge sandy beach for kids to play in, but they liked the pool.

Staff were amazing!! Food and drinks were some the best I’ve had at an all inclusive, we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were also clean and comfy. I definitely recommend especially if you like snorkelling… the snorkelling right in front of the resort was great too! If I ever come back to Cozumel I will be staying here again:)

The food was buffet for every meal, which was usually cold . The staff ignored you , usually didn’t say hello when you entered the dining room, except to scan your room number. Then they spent most of the time talking to each other at the bar area , while you had to chase someone to get an extra drink… unless you were a “paying” guest, not an “”all inclusive” one. They had 2 outside lunch bar-b- que where food was out there for 3 hours in the sun, the cheese congealed, the flys landed on the spoons which had caked on food from being used used by everyone. Y to he hot food was cold, the cold food with mayo was not cold. The man who cooked the meat took it with his bare hands, putting chicken, burgers or hardened pork ( in a melted ice bowl), to put it on the grill,then added the lettuce, tomatoe, onion on a bun. We were never allowed to order off the menu for the ten days we were there. We were not very happy with the variety of food. Had to ask for salt and pepper every day, butter also. We have stayed here many years and we watched the food and service decrease

Easy access to dive boats, staff very nice & accommodating. Swim up jacuzzi bar was nice. Lots of chairs around the pool & beach, towel service. Some small maintenance issues in our room, which staff attended to immediately, & moved us to another room. All was good after that.

Staff was outstanding. Food was wonderful. First all inclusive that out group of 6 ate 3 meals a day. Generally we only tend to eat breakfast and lunch at the resorts we stay at and go out into town for a much better option. But El Cids food was outstanding and we dined exclusively there the entire week.

We had a great time at El CID La Ceiba. The staff really make this place wonderful. Everyone we encountered was friendly and had a big smile on their face. The rooms are a little dated but they were clean and that’s all I really care about.
