"We stayed at Bahia Principe Grand Coba and honestly had mixed feelings about the experience. Starting with the positives — the rooms were cleaned very well. Everything was always neat and tidy, no complaints there. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which definitely made the stay more pleasant. A special highlight is the kids club — it’s truly the best part of the resort. The activities were engaging, and it made a big difference when traveling with children. However, there were also some significant downsides. The biggest issue was the constant feeling of restrictions. The bracelet system makes you feel like you’re in a lower-tier category, with limited access to certain areas. This really affects the overall experience. The food was another disappointment. It wasn’t bad, but very repetitive. After a few days, it gets quite boring, and there’s nothing that really stands out. The resort is large, which is nice in theory, but in practice it can feel inconvenient, with many things located far from each other. Overall, it’s an okay option for a basic family vacation, but if you’re looking for more freedom, better food variety, and a more elevated experience, you may want to consider other resorts."

"The rooms were clean. Some staff was friendly and others were rude. The resort has plenty of room and lots of things to do. A couple of things that need improvement were being able to make reservations at the restaurants. We could not get into one the whole time we were here. We ate at the buffet. And the pools need to be open later than 6 pm. I would definitely return as for the most part it was a great trip"

"We had such a great time visiting Catalonia Royal Tulum. The beach was beautiful, even with the sargassum in the mornings that the resort crew worked hard to clean up day in and day out. The service stood out, with everyone being happy to help and very welcoming — Quetzabel at the buffet and Jonny at the pool bar were always brightening our day. The food was good as well. We found ourselves getting the best meals at the buffet more often than not, but we were able to try every restaurant and were satisfied with all of our meals. None in particular blew us away, aside from maybe Steakville. We recommend the Rauxa show, as it was definitely a sight to see. The rooms were in very good condition, no complaints here at all!! Best part about them perhaps is they are stowed away deep in the jungle and about a 10 minute walk from the beach, including 2-3 coati sightings each time we walked to and from the beach to our rooms. Quite a unique experience. The shows at night by the pool were entertaining as well. I’d say this is far from a party resort, as often times the entertainment would die down past 11 PM, but it fit the bill for what we were looking for. Overall, we had a great stay at Catalonia Royal Tulum and recommend it for whoever may be reading this. "

"My family just returned from a 5 day stay at this hotel and we could not have been happier- the property is modern and is beautifully decorated as well as very clean in all areas. The staff is lovely and highly attentive to its guests, making us feel pampered and cared for. The concierge staff (special thanks to Juan) went out of their way to get us the best dinner times and restaurants as the restaurants were quite crowded due to spring break. The pools are massive and never felt crowded, the food was delicious in the buffets and specialty restaurants and the room was cleaned well each day. We loved seeing the adorable monkeys and other animals too! Thank you for a wonderful vacation! "
