Property was well kept and clean. Restaurants were very good except the dinner Buffet. Dinner buffet had a horrible selection and the quality of the food was cafeteria grade. Beach was ok but filled with seaweed but thats not really controllable the whole riviera is covered in seaweed. The pools were very warm and not very clean. The main pool was very cloudy and dirty. On our first night our room smelled like gasoline and we asked to switch rooms but they said they didnt have any other rooms available but at check in they were pushing for ocean front upgrades. We were with a group and had to spend the night in one of our other families rooms. They did change our room the following day and did not offer us anything or upgrade us for losing a night that we paid for. We lost another couple of hours repacking and switching rooms and while we were changing rooms we got stuck in a elevator for about 15 mins before maintenance got us out. Dreams resort in our first 2 days was more like a nightmare. For the remainder of our trip we decided that we were going to spend more time doing excursions then staying at the resort to try and salvage our negative first impressions of the resort. We pretty much only at breakfast at the resort which was good and ate at the specialty restaurants at night and

I liked that the staff was very friendly. I didn't like that the air conditioning kept leaking in to the floor, the toilet leaked and the $200 "romantic dinner on the beach" sucked.

We were disappointed in the seaweed and odor on the beach. We were looking forward to pristine beaches and they definitely fell short. The biggest disappointment for us was the constant pressure trying to sell spa time, wine, photos, restaurant and additional charged items. It never ceased and took away from relaxation. We spoke to other couples and they felt the same. It would make it hard for us to recommend Dreams due to the sales pressure.

Upon arrival we were exhausted and treated very well by Paulina. after being taken to our rooms and went straight to dinner. the food was ok ..servers super kind and efficient. we stayed at beach a lot wish we had more room for swimming. because of reefs swimming in certain areas are restrictions. drinka and food delivered to our beach chairs..loved it. beatiful surroundings.

the actual hotel is nice, but the attention to detail was definitely lacking. they forgot the birthday cake i ordered prior to my stay, which was really upsetting. and they didn't do anything to make up for it. overall the food was disappointing as well. wouldn't go back.

Room was not we expected. We paid for a king bed and ended up with a double bed. Not a good way to spend your wedding anniversary. Overrated.

Do not book this hotel!

Cons: Hotel cleanliness and service
I am not usually one to leave reviews on websites good or bad, but in this case I thought I needed to share. I saw some other bad reviews for this hotel and chalked it up to, "Some people complain about everything" and to me the good looked to outweigh the bad. Unfortunately for our trip it was not the case. As I am sure that most of you on here book a family vacation for a little pay-off for working so hard throughout the year. We were really looking forward to getting to the beach and it was my boys' first trip out of the country. We arrived at the hotel and I can say that like some of the other people have mentioned, the grounds for the hotel were really nice. We booked two hotel rooms and when we got to our hotel room it was definitely not what it looked like on the website. It was dirty, dingy and musty. Due to the fact that we got to our rooms pretty late, I waited until the morning to contact Travelocity about what was booked. The next day what we found was it was not so easy to switch hotels so we agreed for our rooms to be 'upgraded'. The rooms were much nicer, but in our room we had a really bad leaking AC. We contacted the front desk with no help. It was so bad we had to put towels on the ground from slipping. There are many things I can say about what happened on our trip and there were MANY. I would discourage anyone from booking a hotel with this resort. I can say that I have stayed in Best Westerns and Holiday Inn's that have been much nicer.
