"Perfect long weekend"
Great place with peaceful beach and wonderful service. Rooms are nice and spotless. Only recommendation is for another blanket on the bed as the air conditioner was chilly at night. Ocean view rooms are lovely and garden view rooms are a good deal. I will go back!

"Nice hotel with dive shop."
Snorkelling and diving were not the best. Water was too rough to snorkel 7 out of 8 days and so visibility for diving was not good. Hotel was very nice. Food was average. Expect to walk a lot. Saw monkeys in the trees on resort grounds near a cenote. Awesome sighting. Great pools and lazy river. Very friendly staff.

"Grand Bahia Tulum"
We went with two families. We requested to stay close together, and sent that request many months in advance.. Upon arrival we found to be on opposite sides of the complex. Second issue we had was when requesting the Japanese restaurant you need to specify the Hibachi table which we were not informed of.. To our surprise with 11 people when we showed up we were Ala-carte. Other than the two issues, We had a great stay, complex is beautiful, beaches are wonderful , food was very good, and the kids loved it. We did two excursion, one with Ocean tours through the complex for $35 each we went to Akumul swam with the turtles, swam in the cenotes caverns, which also included on a separate day a tour of the Mathis Jewelry factory and Tequila shop and a 2 hour trip to Playa De Carmen. Well worth the money. The night life we had a good time, and there was always something to do. I would go back here again for a family vacation.

"Very Nice but......................"
Just got back from a week at the Grand Sirenis. It is a large and beautiful place. Let me fist say that my wife and I are non-smokers. At least 80% of the guests were smokers. You can smoke anywhere except the lobby, restaurants, theater, and spa. Of course that did not stop them from smoking there. Lax enforcement of even simplest rules it appears. They need to limit smokers as other resorts do. Did not appreciate ashes in the pool, etc. A majority of guests were from the UK and other local Mexican regions. Tip - Get water shoes. The beach is mostly rocky but the snorkeling was great Tip-Get strong insect repellant for everywhere. I used Deep Woods OFF and still had issues. Restaurants were what you would expect from an AI resort; Japanese by far was our favorite. Fernando at El Rancho was awesome. Buffet restaurants were very good with a lot of variety. The Pool bars were nice. Cali at the one by the Steakhouse was fantastic. This resort is separated into two parts: Mayan Beach and Resort and Spa. I thought I booked the Mayan Beach but when I checked in we got the Resort and Spa - Muuyal building. This was great because the other resort was a long walk to anything, except their own pool. Rooms were very nice - only 2 English channels on the TV - CNN and Fox News though. They were kept very clean. Our favorite place to be midday was by the Ka'Ak'T BBQ shack. Sitting between that and the snack bar with a great view. The BBQ had hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage and steak.
