    Where to Go for Fun

Start your Hawaiian journey on Maui. Leave your bags in the hotel and then stretch your legs during a guided hike through Haleakala National Park. You can climb to the summit of the ancient volcano and take in the best uninterrupted, panoramic views. Come back down to sea level—or below—and embark on a snorkeling expedition to Molokini, a partially submerged volcano. See if you can spot and then pronounce the state fish of Hawaii: Humuhumunukunukuapua’a.

Want to visit Don Ho’s old stomping grounds? Head east from Maui to Oahu and relax at a Hawaiian resort in the beachfront community of Waikiki. You can learn to surf in the friendly waters of Canoes, but if you want some juice with your waves, head 31 miles north across the island to the North Shore. Witness and feel the raw power of the ocean at spots like Pipeline, Waimea Bay, and Sunset Beach. If traditional Hawaiian culture is what you’re looking for, you’re in luck, as the North Shore is home to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Admire the exhibits and watch “Ha: Breath of Life,” a multicultural evening show with traditional songs and dances from Polynesia. Steer clear of those fire-eating dancers, though; don’t you want your eyebrows?

    "Superb Traditional Hotel...Great location"
The Kaanapali Beach Hotel turned out to meet out expectations and more. This is hotel is based on the Hawaiian culture with surroundings, staff and grounds. The main restaurant, The Tiki Terrace, had excellent food with traditional Hawaiian music (live) every night. We had a few dinners at surrounding restaurants and always for the dinners at the Tiki Terrace way better. Our room was perfect with a 6th floor ocean view. Staff was always beyond helpful. There is a complimentary first day breakfast with a great presentation (no, not timeshare) of Hawaiian culture and things to see, do and explore. My wife and I had a great time and will return...Absolutely

"Close to great beaches and fun restaurants"
We were very pleased with our stay here. Included are bike rentals which we loved as we rode down the sidewalks during the sunset hour. The pool was a bit small and felt a bit awkward to swim in with lots of couples but it was nice, clean and right next to a pool side bar which we enjoyed. The only down side to the hotel was the hidden cost of $20 a day for towels, water and such. We never like to stumble upon a fee which added another $140 to our trip. Other than that the staff was extremely friendly and we were happy with our stay there.

    "Excellent! But rooms needs renovations"
The Hotel has a beautiful, big & gorgeous surroundings but the room I stayed in needs renovation, old dingy carpet, dated furnitures & dusty. The only consolation is the excellent view of the ocean & golf course from our balcony. Have I mention, prices in this facility are extravagant.

Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel

"The center of nearly everything in Kailua- Kona."
Our experience at Marriott King Kamehameha was excellent. The hotel is right in the heart of Kialua-Kona and offers a great number of activities within walking distance. The hotel is very clean and nice, but is showing its age and could use some updating. The room was clean and comfortable, but I would recommend reserving a room away from the street. Our room was on the 5th floor and we had trouble sleeping most nights due to lively conversations and activities on the street below. The staff was friendly and eager to help. I would definitely stay again. However, I would make sure to get a different room.
