The car is king in Orlando. All the major theme parks are actually outside the city proper, so if you want to visit the most magical place on earth or any other park on your bucket list, you'll need a set of wheels. Another option is the I-Ride Trolley, which trundles along International Drive and Universal Blvd., picking up and depositing passengers at several major parks and tourist attractions.
It might seem to go without saying, but if you want to get Orlando at its calmest, you'll need to travel outside of the school vacations. Both Orlando itself and Disney World are at their most hectic in late March through early April, June through August and at Christmas. January through mid-March offers a more tranquil experience, if Disney World is ever tranquil. You can expect mild weather, with daytime averages of around 65°F.
