"Beautiful spot but has service/food issues"
First the pros: The resort is beautifully nestled on a private beach with water that was so blue. The scenery from the beach was that of the gorgeous hillside. It was very tranquil. The hotel itself was surrounded by lush tropical gardens and the lobby had a very modern hip vibe to it. The room had a really nice view of the beach and again the vibe was modern chic. The mattress was my favorite part of the room, it was so comfortable. The pool grounds were beautiful and well maintained. I was very impressed by the bar staff and the reception staff. They were very attentive and friendly to their guests. Cons: The in room service was not great. They did not replenish bottled waters (which you need to drink unless you enjoy being on the toilet) mini bar and floor towelThe bathroom was not cleaned well. We also ordered breakfast in bed and it was 45mins late. Overall the food was just ok. For the amount of money you pay it should be awesome. Also the service was hit or miss. Some people were so friendly and helpful, and some were just down right rude. For example it was about 9:30pm and a group of our party wanted a snack so we went to buffet, it closes at 10p, they would not seat us. We literally had to just walk in, take a plate of food and eat in lobby of the world cafe. The overall cleanliness of hotel was just ok. I have been to all inclusives where it is almost sparkling it's so clean. Conclusion:Overpriced for mediocre food and service but beautiful location and beach.

"This trip was a DREAM. Beach and pool and spa."
The staff here makes your visit a sublime experience. Friendly, accommodating, wonderful people, all of them. The pools are gorgeous and clean. The beach is divine and was mere yards from our room. Our room was spotless and roomy, even with 3 people in a junior suite. The bathroom alone is bigger than most NYC studio apartments. The food is expensive but very, very good. The spa transported us to another land filled with lemongrass scent and loving, nurturing hands working out the kinks in our shoulders. The gym is clean and all the equipment is brand new. Whatever we needed, we were only a phone call away from our requests. I can't speak about this trip highly enough.

"Paradise Found"
Paradise found. The Jamaican hand shake requires a commitment from those who share it. The three stokes of the thumb mean Peace, Love and Respect. Without a commitment to the meaning of each of these words, that is all they are, just words. From the moment you arrive at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Rose Hall to the time that you have to bid farewell to your new friends, your second home, these three words, Peace, Love and Respect embody your stay. My wife and I stayed in one of the 1st floor garden view rooms and were wowed by the expansiveness of the room as well as the wonderful view from the terrace. Normally I would ask for an ocean view but was pleasantly surprised to find this view just as soothing, peaceful and beautiful. Your room is always well stocked with the best toiletries while the maid service visits twice a day so that whether you are coming in from the beach or a night at the restaurants and shows you will always be greeted by a welcoming neat room. Your mini fridge is also stocked daily and I found that should I run out of any beverage, no matter the time of day or night, your butler service was at your beck and call. When staying at the Grand you have special access to both adjoining properties, The Suites and the Beaches. Although these properties are not Adult Only you will find that touring them is well worth the time spent. Should you get tired of walking by the time you have been through all three just ask on of the security guards at the entra

"Love the food and entertainment"
The rooms are extremely nice and ALL the resturaunts serve excellent food. I temporarily gain weight each time I come here. They are always improving the landscape. I've been to the Riu in Ochos Rios and Negril?? But at least once a year we come to the one in Montego Bay since its opening a few years back. I love the proximity to the airport. The only problem I have is that I know all the nightly entertainment acts. I love the Michael Jackson show. I love the steel drum band that they bring in. I love the nightime beach parties. I love the bands that play before the night club Pacia opens. Don't care for the fire eater. There seems to be a cutback in the staff of entertainers and waitresses. You now have to get your own drinks and miss part of the nightly show. I've seen Grease at least 4 times. I guess they don't expect repeat guest. Why do the entertainers practice since they always do the same acts every year? There are two acts that are the same acts at the Grand Pallidium. The daytime entertainment is much better at the Iberostar Resort. (I visit Jamaica often). They need to improve the daytime entertainment. AGAIN, I love the Michael Jackson show. I think they should put up those bug zappers to kill the MANY mosqiutos. There used to be an opera singing bartender (I thought that was pretty neat). The fact that they have nightly entertainment puts them way above the rest. I've been to resorts with no nightly entertainment and thats a HUGE mistake. When I go on vacation, I just want to sit back RELAX with good food and be entertained.

"Nice resort, good food, dated rooms "
We had a very nice vacation. The pool was great to lounge by and have a drink. The food was great in most restaurants. Hotel is located close to the airport which made for quick transfers. Our room was a little dingy and did not look like the ones on the website, which was disappointing. Our adult only resort room did face and walkout to the kids pool, which was a little loud. The staff was friendly, but not overly helpful. At the pool, they did not return to get our drink orders. We did not have towels in our rooms two days. While at the pool, our tip money and room key was stolen out of our beach bag, which was disappointing. The resorts did not have cameras on the pool. The resort is really nice overall. Lots of restaurants to choose from.

"The Moon Palace Resort/Jamaica, Ocho Rios"
1. The Resort Hotel was in the perfect location. 2. However, they were doing construction on the Hotel and the lights flickered on and off in my room. When I requested them to have them fixed. They stated they would send someone to check it out but no one showed up. 3. 98% of the staff was Superior. But I had a Staff member force an offer on myself and my Fiance. He would not listen and he asked some personal questions over and over to my fiance once I left to take care of an errand. This was absolutely awful! I told him we did not want to be bothered but he would not listen. 4. The tours were excellent and we really enjoyed them but when I requested a receipt the receptionist said I did not need one and why I would ask. I like to track everything that is done. 5. When I asked to see the manager, the manger stated that others have used receipts to get extra privileges. I told him I was not anyone and was offended that he would project on me a criminal prospective. 6. HOWEVER, THE JAMAICAN PEOPLE WERE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! 7.Now, I walked downtown to Ocho Rios. I requested a taxi number just in case I did not want to walk back, the Bellman said he could not provide me this service, for my safety with my Fiance. I was obviously not to happy!

"No need for a wallet! ALL INCLUSIVE LUXURY!"
Oh man where do I start with this resort? First of all we went for our honeymoon. Neither of us ever went to Jamacia previously. When we arrived Sandals had a nice place inside the airport where they took your bags and had a great lounge area as well. *Do not convert your money from US it's 15% fee and serves no purpose. The ride to Ocho Rios was just like driving in the US no crazy drivers or super bad roads. (We're coming from PA though so our roads rank last anyway.) Got to the resort and paradise began. Loved the fact that we had two butlers to help us but really didn't know what to do with them other than making dinner reservations. Room was nice but bathroom although clean seemed a little out of place for such a nice place. Mini bar was fully stocked with whatever alcohol we requested. The place has peacocks everywhere. Very neat. The french restaurant was a must. We actually did it twice it was so good! Orlando served us there and did great. Even took our picture. Actually all the staff was always offering to take your picture which my wife liked. The beach butler was Adrian and he knew what you needed and always keep the beach goers satisfied. (BTW Beach and personal butlers can take tip.. Beach about $5-10 a day and personal $10-20 depending on how you feel. We waited till the end to tip both but would have rather tipped Adrian the first day so he knew he would get something. (believe me he's worth it) Vurgina was the tour rep. She was in the lobby ready to help. We did the dolphin ride, tubbing and ziplining, and catamaran ride to Dunn's river falls. all of which were great. The Dolphin excursion was over rated. Swimming with the dolphins was amazing and the rest of that place was boring. We left early. I would recommend that instead of booking through the tour guide you use your butler to make you a taxi ride back and forth and pay just for the dolphin swim there, that way you can save money for the $50 5x7 pictures they want to sell you! All in all the place was so relaxing, no kids anywhere. We did go to the Rivera next door because they had more restaurants and had sushi at Soy, and ate at Neptunes. It was very neat that your butler went over there with you to get your meal started! (thanks Richard and Sheldon!) We will go back!!! The next day after we got home Mark the GM who talked to us at dinner one night called and asked me how our trip was and wished us well. (No sales pitch or sales talk, just checking in on us.Thanks for a great honeymoon Royal Plantation
