Last Minute Jamaican Honeymoon

Pros: Friendly & accommodating staff, great pools, swim up bar, decent coffee bar, great buffet food, lots of activities, lazy river
Cons: Mattresses are VERY firm (if you need a soft mattress, could be an issue), elevators are slow, Wifi slow, cabana pricing is steep
Location: We stayed on site - but the Rose Hall (Google It) is nearby/across the street. 10-15 minutes from airport via shuttle. No need to leave resort!
We recently traveled to Jamaica for our honeymoon, and booked our trip last minute through Travelocity. I had never booked an entire trip through Travelocity before (flights round trip, hotel, shuttle), so I was a bit apprehensive. I have also never traveled to Jamaica, and we decided to book the Hilton on the reputation of the Hilton brand. I've stayed with various Hiltons across the US, and this one was up to par with my great Hilton experiences. The staff was always SO friendly! Jamaican hospitality is very welcoming. Front desk staff is friendly, Servers were always so polite & friendly and would meet any and every request (shout out to Aneta and Cecilia!). As a young couple, we didn't necessarily want to shell out the big bucks to stay at Sandals (again, this was a last minute booking...about 9-10 days before our trip!), and I think this was a great value for what we paid. The pools were all well kept/cleaned. Not a ton of beach front, but enough to enjoy the ocean/find seaglass & shells! Food is decent - we ate at the buffet, Fresh, almost every meal. We preferred the buffet over the sit-down restaurants on site. Luna Di Mare (the Italian restaurant on site) had great food, but limited choices, as did the other restaurants (the food was still good, though). Over on the east side of the property is a Jerk Chicken and Jerk Pork hut - You absolutely have to eat there! Garth & Mark are wonderful and make the best jerk chicken. Great value.

Great hotel for a family

This hotel is great for a family with kids, it offers lots of activities to keep the kids and adults entertained without the rowdiness that is typically found at other all inclusive hotels. The views and location is great for relaxing. The hotel staff are very accommodating and helpful. The only drawback we found was that the rooms are a bit small other than that a great hotel.

Jamaican vacation

Had a wonderful time Hilton Rose Hall Resort is beautiful Food was great and alway a variety to chose from whether it was the buffet or ala carte restaurants The lazy river was a fun time Now for our room-we were upgraded to the presidential suite which was simply marvelous Very spacious with incredible views All in all very happy with our stay and just back one day and wanting to book another stay

Very nice hotel for family

Very nice hotel for family..so many things to do esp for kids..food is very good with different continent of food selection everyday for the week..would love to go back again..people were friendly and nice..room is always clean

Not the best room

Pros: Rooms were very clean, bedding very comfortable
Cons: Needs exhaust fans in the bathrooms
Location: Dunns River Falls
the only thing I was unhappy about with this room is that it faced the deck where the bar is, and we could hear the people at the bar until very late at night. Not a nice view outside the room either. I thought booking through Travelocity would be a better room

Very nice hotel close to the beach

Hotel is very nice! Food was good for a 4 star hotel. Staff are all different depending of their mood. Some of them look at you serious and mad. Specially at the pool bar and fresh restaurant. Others were very nice.this was my first time in Jamaica.beach is a 3 start beach. If you like water u must go to NEGRIL.

"Older hotel" charm, EXCELLENT STAFF!!!!!

Pros: More than anything - the staff.
Location: Located in Montego Bay. We heard there was lots to do but we went to relax....and that all we did. Did not leave the resort at all.
We stayed 8 nights in this "older" (as compared to others in the vicinity) hotel, bed was very comfortable/pillows not so much but that's minor issue. There were a few tweeks that needed to be done in our room and all was taken care of promptly and to our complete satisfaction. The restaurants were wonderful, the buffet is themed differently each evening for dinner. Choices were fantastic. Three Palms Restaurant was fabulous! All outside smaller dining places (pizza, sandwiches, etc.) were great. Bars were well stocked/bartenders can mix some mean drinks! Now...to us-the most important aspect of any trip - the people. There was not one single bad experience, not one single problem, not one single thing of any kind to say against any person we dealt with. From the guys who rake the beach to the hotel managers - Professional, Friendly, Fun and Easy-going. We loved meeting every single person! You can be sure if we return to Jamaica, we will stay at this resort.

Best Vacation Ever!

Pros: Water slide with swim up bar. Great entertainment, Friendly staff, Quality of the food
Cons: Wifi was a little slow
Location: Only 10 Minuets from the airport, Local shops
Went there on a family vacation. I could not have been more pleased as this resort exceeded all of my expectations. The resort was clean. well staffed and had some of the most pleasant staff members I have ever come across. The all went out of their way to make sure we had a great vacation. I was very pleased with the quality of the food at both the buffets and restaurants. The pool has a large water slide that empty's into a lazy river with a swim up bar. We spent a lot of time there just floating around in out tubes. The beaches were great with no coral as found in some other vacation spots. The thing that stood out the most was the quality of the entertainment. They had something great every night. I highly recommend this place and feel you will not be disappointed. I plan to revisit this resort again!!!

Wonderful beach resort

I am generally very hard to impress but this was one of the nicest places I have visited. The personnel were the best trained staff I have seen. They did not simply say the right things but they acted intelligently to take initiative and take care of all of our needs- and they made us feel at home in the process. We did all inclusive and found the food to be excellent, with good variety and healthy choices. We do not have small children but saw families loved waterpark. Really exceeded my expectations and would unreservedly recommend

A water park meanders through a jungle garden and contains 3 terraced swimming pools, channels, little lagoons, waterfalls, a lazy river with float tubes, and a swim-up bar. A rope-and-wood suspension bridge, faux rock formations, and replicas of the former Rose Hall Plantation's aqueducts (whose ruins can be found elsewhere within the resort) are also in the jungle garden. Among the replicas is a sugar mill 30 feet (9 meters) high, providing access to a 280 foot (85 meter) serpentine waterslide. Other features include 2 secluded 6-person spa tubs, one with waterfall, a 24-hour fitness facility, and a complimentary children's club.

The resort's beach extends 1,000 yards (914 meters) and provides calm-water swimming in most weather conditions. Pool decks and the beach are set with cushioned lounge chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas.

Water sports equipment and activities include small sailboats, snorkeling gear, windsurfers, and kayaks plus Pilates and aerobics classes. The resort also features 6 tennis courts (surcharges for night games). Play on the resort's 18-hole championship golf course, Cinnamon Hill Ocean Course, incurs a surcharge. The course, which has played host to the Caribbean Classic Golf Championship, traverses tropical greenery, offers mountain and ocean vistas, and rises from sea level to an elevation of 900 feet (274 meters).
