But there's more than just the gambling halls of Las Vegas and Reno in the Silver State. Exceptional cultural attractions, tons of unique natural sights, and lots of recreational activities await every traveler. The state aims to please, and after a trip enjoying everything from the comforts of Nevada resorts to the vistas at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, you certainly will be satisfied. Start looking for flights to Nevada today. It's time for the trip of a lifetime!

    Having Fun in Nevada

Get a great start to your trip in the western part of the Silver State by living it up at the Reno casinos and bars and exploring attractions like the National Automobile Museum. Nearby Carson City, which is known for having some of the best hotels in Nevada, is where you can see incredible views from atop Snow Valley Peak. Western Nevada is also right by all the action on and around Lake Tahoe. From there, head to southern Nevada and the Las Vegas region, where you can enjoy a world-class culinary scene, the Mob Museum, roller coasters, gambling, and more. Las Vegas is also near Valley of Fire State Park, a worthwhile day trip, and the iconic Hoover Dam - the structure that tames the mighty Colorado River. In central Nevada, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest is a gem for camping and hiking enthusiasts, and the Great Basin National Park in the eastern portion of the state is a breathtaking scene.

With so much offered in the Silver State, start planning early on Travelocity by booking anything from cheap Las Vegas hotels to Mesquite car rentals. If you bundle Nevada hotels with a flight, you can save up to $537 on Travelocity.

"Time to re-do some of the interior halls and rooms"
The check in line was almost an hour wait. Found out that most of restaurants, shops and pool were closed BUT you are to pay the $33 a day resort fee. Why? Because you are sending us to all the competition? Would have booked elsewhere if we had been aware. The staff was nice and helpful when asked a question. MJ in Mlife was great and Andre in checking in helpful.

    "Surprise at checkout"
My stay at the GSR was pleasurable from check-in thru the entire stay until I checked out. When I prepaid thru Travelocity, I thought I was paid in full, but no. They ripped me for another $67.02 for what they called "Resort and Tourism Fees". What a crock!!!!

I booked 7 nights and my assigned room was next to the train tracks. I asked for a quieter room after a couple days and was a little annoyed they assigned a week long guest to a substandard room location. I also had to check out a day early and they wouldn't refund the extra day.

"Warning! Avoid the high pressure sails pitch......"
Overall I loved the resort the staff was friendly and helpful but do avoid the concierge, those guys are always trying to make an extra buck from you. High Pressure Sales Tactics from the all too familiar Time Share Sales Techniques. For example when I called to see about check out procedure the concierge guy told me that check out time was 10am but since I was still there at 10:15 I could get charged for an extra day, then he tells me to go see him at the front to see what he could do for me. Needless to say I ignored what he said and went strait for the front desk to check out and the staff there said I was good to go without any other fees applied. hummm....

    "Expected More Conveniences "
The grounds are beautiful and the interior decor elegant. But I expected that the airport shuttle which was included in the resort fee would be conveniently available. However, it only is scheduled for one trip every two hours and can not be reserved until 30 minutes before departure. For our 10:39 am flight, we had to take the 7:00 am shuttle, reserving it by 6:30 am that same morning. We were told by the staff to get a taxis if we did not like the schedule. There was no coffee maker in the room, so I called the desk asking if this was a mistake because usually there is one in a hotel room. The person at the front desk replied, "If you want coffee there is Starbucks and room service. Seeing only one complimentary bathrobe in the closet for use during our stay, I asked if we could have another bathrobe since we are two people in the room. The hotel representative said, "Bathrobes are for sale in the gift shop." I had to explain that I do want to buy the robe, just use it here. There were other little annoyances as well which make me not want to stay here ever again.
