"Unexpectedly Awesome"
This is one of the cleanest and most comfortable rooms I've ever stayed in. Our family suffers from severe allergies and hotel rooms are often a nightmare for us. When I saw the puffy bedding and all the pillows I thought it was going to kill us. I ended up looking at their website to find out what they use so I can have it at home! This is not decorated or styled in an ornate manner, being an eco-hotel. It is very modern and utilizes an almost generic Ikea-like design scheme. So if you are looking for the over-the-top Vegas experience here, you will be disappointed. If you have a work/family situation that is better suited to an experience off "the strip" and you need someplace quieter and cleaner to spend the night, this is the place for you. It's still very close to Las Vegas Blvd.(about 10 min.) and is very conveniently located in a suburban area next to the highway. The staff is amazing and obviously well trained. Also, if you're interested in this sort of thing, apparently the president stayed the night there at some point as well. It's been years since I've been to Vegas and I was very nervous about having a stop/layover there with my tween-aged child. I couldn't have been happier with how our stay turned out!

"Super close to the Strip. "
First, I'm amazed that I was able to get such a great deal. I'm keeping in mind that you get what you pay for so I can't really complain about the room size. Things I like: the staff was wonderful. They smiled, they were respectful, helpful, friendly. All good things. We always had made up beds and clean towels. Things I did not like: the free wifi did not work in our room, our remote control did not work, the heater was crazy loud and the room did not have items like, a hair dryer, coffee pot or microwave but like I said, you get what you pay for. All in all, it meet the needs of my family. We had a great trip and for that price I'd stay there again.

We stayed for 1 week at Hawthorn. The staff was very friendly, our room was always thoroughly cleaned daily and the breakfast was good. The property was in very good shape. I have no complaints about this hotel.

"Registration Problems"
We arrived at 2:00 P.M. Check in was at 3:00. We asked if something was available, but nothing was. A receptionists took our credit card and said we were checked in, but needed to come back around 3:00 to get our room. We came back at 3:10, but a line of about 12 people was already formed. We asked if our room was ready, but told we had to stand in line. There was only two staff members checking people in and they were extremely slow. Truly we stood there in line for an hour before we got our room assignment. UNBELIEVABLE! The hotel was pretty good in most other aspects except for noise.

"Very nice 3 day, 4 night stay."
Hello, this is a great hotel. Located only a few blocks from the strip it is so easy to navigate to and from anywhere in Vegas! The hotel offers a very nice breakfast in the morning, as well as fresh baked cookies in the evenings at the front desk. The staff was all very friendly. I didn't have any issues with my room at all. My wife said it was probably the best, and cleanest, hotel room we have ever stayed in. In my experiences with hotels, the beds can be very hard but that wasn't the case. I found the king bed to feel more like a pillow and I got some really good sleep on them! Next time I go to Vegas, I wouldn't bother looking at any other place. They don't have a shuttle to the strip, but that didn't turn out to be a big deal since you can easily get to the strip and park in the casinos free parking garage, then just use the deuce or the rail to get from casino to casino, or walk! Hey, I loved staying at the place. I didn't get to use the pool at all, but it looked very nice!

"Interesting place"
When I first walked in I had to stop for a moment for my eyes to adjust to the dark. Once I could see it took a moment to figure out where the front desk was located. The lobby was dark and the lighting was orange and pink neon. There must thousands of framed pictures and mirrors on the walls and ceiling. I had never stayed in a hotel like this and I have traveled extensively. I would not recommend this for children as there is a nude swimming pool on the roof and 24/7 hard core porn on the TV. It was an interesting night in Vegas but next year I will opt for the Marriott.

Las Vegas Pet Friendly Hotel Guide

“Pets are humanizing,” James Cromwell once said. “They remind us we have an obligation and responsibility to preserve and nurture and care for all life.”

Nowhere is that need for humanization more necessary than the glittering thoroughfare of the Las Vegas Strip. Truly, this section of Nevada is a strange and stunning wonderland; a 24-hour maelstrom of sound and fury, inhabited by an ever-changing population of tourists and permanent residents alike. In a world where so much is changing so quickly, the need for the familiar, stabilizing element of a pet is paramount. And besides—shouldn’t Fuzzy or Fido be able to accompany you on your adventures?

Gone are the days when a trip to “Sin City” meant a tearful farewell to your furry family members. Why leave them behind, when so many restaurants, cafes, and shops now allow you to bring your companion animal with you? Not to mention the excellent hiking available in nearby Red Rock Canyon—you’ve never seen such astonishing natural beauty, and we’d wager your pet hasn’t, either. Bid your ordinary life adieu, pack up your friend’s food dishes and leashes, and browse our selection of pet-friendly hotels in Las Vegas. Your journey is about to begin.

Can you smoke in Las Vegas casinos?

Yes, you can smoke in most Las Vegas casinos, provided the space in question is not serving food and possesses more than 15 slot machines. In this case, “food” means meals prepared in a kitchen; you can still smoke if there are prepackaged snacks offered. If you obtain food elsewhere, the casino may allow you to bring it onto the floor with you. Rules vary by establishment, so keep an eye out.

If you’re searching for a completely non-smoking venue, consider the Vdara Hotel & Spa. It does not have a casino, but it’s one of the best dog-friendly hotels in Las Vegas; contact them to learn more about bringing your dog with you.

What are some tips on how to dress in Las Vegas during the summer?

Las Vegas is located in the desert, which means summer temperatures regularly soar to over 100 degrees during the day. You’ll want to wear light, comfortable clothing. A casual, easy dress code to follow includes:

    • Shorts
    • Capris
    • Tank tops
    • T-Shirts
    • Sundresses
    • Flip-Flops/Sandals

You may also wish to bring a light coat or sweater, as the air conditioning inside hotels and casinos is quite powerful.

If you’re planning an evening out on the town, remember that the temperatures are still in the 70s even after the sun goes down. Jeans, boots, and light jackets are all appropriate for most venues. If you aren’t sure whether the establishment or event you’re attending has a dress code or not, call ahead and ask.

There’s no need to leave the four-legged members of your family behind on your next excursion to the desert. Travelocity is here to help you find the perfect place for the two of you to stay, whether it’s basking in the comfort of the Rumor Boutique Hotel or at one of our numerous other Las Vegas pet-friendly hotels.

You’re both long overdue for an adventure together. We’d say Mr. Cromwell would be pleased.
