Overpriced and overrated hotel

Horrible parking lot-- on a hill, so if it's icy or wet, dangerous. Lobby-- small, unwelcoming, in need of updates. Part of the ceiling in the lobby near one of the elevators was is need of repair-- the missing tile and the exposed wiring and insulation looked horrible. The floor was less than clean. The elevator needs updating and was less than clean. The room itself was alright although one of the photographs was mislabeled. It was a picture of the Williamsburg bridge, but was labeled as the Brooklyn Bridge-- very amateurish. When we arrived, there was only one person at the front desk who was busy with another client, and we had to wait until she finished. No other employee came to help her, despite the fact that the door to the office was wide open and those employees in there could clearly see there were clients ready to be checked in. Once we finally checked in and we're given our keys, and went up to the room, we faced another inconvenience-- the keys did not open the door. We were forced to return to the lobby, resolve the problem, take the elevator back up, and try again. We only needed the room to change for an event, and didn't actually sleep there so We cannot comment on an overnight stay. What we saw in the short amount of time we were there would NEVER bring us back to this hotel. If you want quality, this is not it.

Cons: Pillows were very flat. Room key problem.
Good location for attending US Open with a number of dining options close by as well as LIRR station.

Nice hotel - train ride away to NYC!

Pros: It was attractive, comfortable and affordable.
Cons: Wish we had queen beds instead of double.
Location: The Long Island Railroad is a 1/2 mile walk and an easy way into the city. Lots of restaurants and shops in the immediate area
The Adria Hotel was very pleasant, affordable and an easy commute by train into NYC. Tiffany at the front desk was very helpful to us during our stay. The complimentary breakfast was decent. The room was clean and comfortable. Thanks!

We tried to like it, but...

Pros: The price was fairly reasonable for the area, and it was located very close to a favorite restaurant of mine.
Cons: The beds were extremely uncomfortable. They need to learn the difference between clients staying at your establishment, and the party goers.
Location: If you're familiar with Bayside, it's within walking distance of Bell Boulevard and it's quite close to the freeway.
We checked into a room that I was told was non-smoking. The smell in the room and the carpet told a different story. We stayed for 4 nights, and each night there was a huge party in the hotel, or as they liked to call it, a gala. Each time, the attendees were very loud and completely unaware there were people trying to sleep around them. Our first night there was a screaming baby in the room below us. When I say screaming, I don't mean a tired whinge, I mean top of the lungs really loud screaming. That went on all night. The second day I told them if that person was still there we wanted to move to another room. They had checked out, so we stayed, and I was assured it was a non-smoking room. We also asked for more pillows and blankets, because we were both freezing the night previous. They were delivered, with a promise that they would do something about the heat/coolness of the room. The next night, there was a very large party in the hotel. The people were screaming at each other as they said their goodbyes, and it went on for about 2 hours. Hotel did nothing about it. The third night, same thing, loud music and even louder guests. They left the premises at about 1am, and again, they were saying their fond farewells for at least an hour. The fourth night, my husband and I went and had ourselves several glasses of wine before turning in, and frankly it helped. The issue was that the large party that night took up all the parking spaces we parked next door.

Excellent staff

The hotel is convenient to the Long Island RR, making access into NYC a piece of cake. The neighborhood is decent with lots of places to eat nearby. The hotel room is adequate, nothing fancy, but it's comfortable and clean. What made our stay exceptional was the outstanding service from the staff. Very nice people who work hard to make the stay pleasant. We would definitely go back, in fact, we will go out of our way to use this hotel again. Very pleasantly surprised.

Great For The Price!

This hotel is a good bargain considering what you pay vs. what you get. My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights with our one-year old baby. They provided us a corner unit and a baby crib for free, which is very nice because we didn't have to bring our portable crib for such a short trip. The room was very quiet. Walking distance to anything needed including restaurants, pharmacies/drug stores, coffee shops, gas stations and etc. We didn't try their breakfast, only the coffee, which was so so. Everything was good until the day when we were leaving - the elevator broke down, which forced us to take 3-story stairs with our baby, luggages, stroller and bags. It was a pain!

Most affordable in this locale

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, great staff
The best part of this place is the staff - very helpful. It was the closest I could get to where I needed to walk to, without spending top dollar. While not cheap, it was clean, the staff was great, and it had a refrigerator - a major plus when you keep kosher, and can't eat their breakfasts. The bed was decently comfortable - it's never like home. Everything worked. The nonsmoking section was the top floors. There are three floors of rooms, and the lobby and parking are the first two floors, so we were on the fifth floor.
