I was fully prepared to stay in a great location in NYC for a good price with lots of charm. BUT... First of all the hotel lobby was filled with what looked like random people trying to stay warm, spread out all over the seating areas. Weren't even sure they were customers. Also, when given my first room the floor was wet. Got my socks wet after a long day of travel, no fun. The second room had a broken heater (NYC IN JANUARY). So, what I got were two room options presented to me that were totally unacceptable. Such poor setup and conditions that I refused to stay and walked across the street to book another hotel. To put it in plain words, they give you two towels. Wash cloths and hand towels are "upon request". Until updates are made, this hotel could be classified as a hostel. It certainly isn't acceptable for what else is in the area for the same price. The staff was amazing and sympathetic. I have to assume I am not the only one complaining. They all know this as I am sure they deal with it on a daily basis.

The staff was excellent. The room is missing face cloths (unless these are not provided.) If they are not, it seems like something that should be. There is some rust on the radiator and in the bathroom. But the staff in general are gracious and that make it worthwhile.

The hotel was old but quite clean. The room was smaller than I thought it would be for the price and there was limited counter space for resting toiletries or cell phone. There was no fridge or coffee pot or iron. I also requested a receipt and was told it would be sent to the email provided. That was 9 hrs ago. I haven’t received a receipt. I called and requested it a second time about an hr ago and was told the same thing. Still, receipt

The room, and especially the bathroom, were impeccably clean. The room is on the small side, but for a room in the Times Square area it is probably quite large. The price was fantastic, considering the location. We did have one minor issue when we checked in. The safe wasn't working because the battery was low, but the staff had it fixed within 15 minutes of being notified. It is a short walk to many Broadway theaters, and we would definitely stay here again.

I was given a room which had an old stream vent in it which was designed when they built the building. There is no option for you to turn it off or on because hot steam just rises out of it. Hence the room got very hot. There is air conditioning in the room but it was so noisy and rattled I had to turn it off at night to try and get to sleep. The hotel is in a great location but you need to stress you do not want a room with the steam vent in it. Also at night I did find it noisy with cars continuously using their horns at night. Next time I visit New York I would stay in a quieter area like SoHo.

The room was very clean but small. Location is perfect for all your sightseeing adventures. Steps to Times Square and all the Theaters. Would definitely stay here again.
