The room was not worth the $315 a night I paid for. The door to the bathroom didn't shut, and there was no ventilation in the bathroom, which meant that when you took a hot shower(In December), it was extremely humid and just made everything all wet. The staff was nice but the room was not worth that much. Maybe $200 but thats it.

We had clean room, good security. The trattoria restaurant was excellent. The breakfast at Tic Tok restaurant were big. Please notice the Hotel, our room get cold to soon, the cold filtered inside the room 1984, when the windows were closed. We felt the wind coming inside. We could administrate the temperature of the air conditioner so we did had the possibility of warming the room. We asked for a room with queen bed, but they gave us a full size bed. (we did not complained about it.)

The room was outdated, and the bedsheets had some stains. The carpet made the room look dirty. The windows were not well insulated, so there was noise the whole time (ambulances, cars, construction…). Besides all these issues, the hotel is well located, near Penn Station/Madison Square Garden and within walking distance to Times Square, with many dining options and convenience stores nearby.

The New Yorker is conveniently located next to Grand Central Station and Madison Square Garden. It's also a few blocks away from Times Square, Whole Foods and Hudson Yard. There are lots a good places to eat bith casualandfine dining. With that said, this hotel is a great place for a short stay. The hotel is close to 100 years old so the walls are thin and the plumbing is just ok. I was originally on the 19th floor, but due to some plumbing issues, was kindly switched to a bigger room with a view. I was switched from the 19th floor to the 29th floor, but the street noise was still quite loud. I could still hear the occasional siren from police cars and ambulances. The restaurant on the corner was playing really loud music that carried through the windows in my room. The staff at the front desk is friendly and accommodating. BUT, if you're planning on staying in NYC for more than a couple of days, opt for a newer hotell for a more comfortable stay. New York City is definitely a place that never sleeps.

One thing I really hated about this hotel was the small rooms and being able to hear every noise from the rooms next door wasn’t able to get any sleep I could hear the people next door talking I don’t think I would ever stay there again

We loved our room and the hotel staff were very kind and helpful. The location was perfect for attending a concert at MSG. My only complaint is the room did not have a mini fridge, a microwave, or even a coffee maker. As someone who prefers to eat healthy affordable food even when travelling, that doesn’t work for me. They offered a mini fridge to be brought up for $50 US per day, which I found outrageous considering they already charged me $45 US per day for ‘hotel amenities’ fees which I did NOT know about when booking with Expedia. Our stay was amazing, but I will not likely choose this hotel again solely for these two reasons.

Rooms? Severely outdated - the “landlord special” was everywhere. The walls are terribly thin, heard every door slam, every person talking. We got there and our (very old) TV wasn’t working. Apparently some floors were renovated, ours was not one of them and you could tell. Water temp fluctuates badly. You have to show your room key half the time to staff in order to get on the elevator. Amenities (fridge, coffee, etc.) are all an extra charge? not to mention on top of the extra charge for the wifi and workout facility whether you use it or not. Air/fan doesn’t stay on or set.

We were told room will be above 19th floor with a view, we got 7th floor with window facing back wall and rubbish.Rooms so tiny, theres barely room to walk. Staff at reception and entrance very rude and racist. Moved our bags without asking us, and everyone else's bags were there.Then argued with us when we wanted our bags back.we almost missed our flight. Did not even bother to help with luggage or open doors and we had two suitcases per person..
