Amazing stay! We came into town for a show and picked this hotel because of the general vibe and look. It exceeded my expectations! It was so beautiful and we especially loved the blue room! I loved the martini happy hour. The service was excellent. Everyone was so friendly. The room was very comfy and cozy.

I loved my stay at Civilian

I loved my stay at Civilian, it is close to the subway, and so many attractions - such as Times Square, Broadway, Rockerfeller Centre - all within a 5-10 minute walk. The rooms are compact, but perfect for a solo person. There is little room for hanging clothes which was the only dissapointment. A great place to stay - and would definately stay there again.

I stayed at Civilian with my Dad this past weekend, and we had a great experience. We flew into JFK, and it was an easy airtrain and subway ride to 50th street to get to the hotel. Upon our arrival, We were greeted by Jesus, who gave us some great restaurant recommendations. He also upgraded our room to a spacious double. The room was well appointed and clean. We were on the 22nd floor and had a great view of the Hudson I also really appreciated the hydration stations; it made it very easy to stay hydrated We traveled to see a play, and Civilian was only 3 minutes away on foot. We also walked to Central Park and the Met. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. Overall, we had a great time, and I would definitely stay at Civilian again.

Amazing View

Fantastic 15th floor view of Hudson River (spacious double bed booked). Have travelled to NYC many times before so we knew to expect less square footage based on our budget. The room view and decor had wow-factor. Lovely staff who say hello every time. The floor to ceiling windows is what I was seeking and I was not disappointed. Great location (Hells Kitchen near all the theatres). Just a block away from the business of Times Sq. We loved that we could retreat to our quieter space. We felt safe and relaxed when in our room. The only thing we missed was lobby space. The entrance is quite narrow and only had a two seater couch. There is a restaurant but you’d have to purchase something to sit. The roof top patio requires guests to be 21 years or older so we couldn’t go up there with our teen children. Regardless, I would recommend (already have) with the above precautions.

Loved my first stay at the Civilian! Beautiful room with a view of the Hudson, wonderful service from the staff who left my mom a lovely surprise for her birthday, and a fun and funky restaurant and cocktail lounge. We have stayed at many different places in Midtown when we have come to see Broadway shows, and this is a newly discovered gem. We will definitely be back.

A gem

A fantastic hotel. Unbelievably convenient for theatres, Radio City, etc. Comfortable bed, excellent shower, brilliant and friendly staff. Very close to amazing coffee - St Kilda in particular. Very close to amazing food - Chalong in particular. And very reasonably priced for such a great place. Strongly recommended.
