Great Location but Old Room-Not as Pictured

Pros: Location, location, location
Older hotel in the heart of the theater district and Times Square. The location was great and the staff tremendous, but our room was tired and old. There was a smell of smoke at times as if there were smokers in neighboring rooms. There was not a very pleasant smell to the linens. The advertised picture must be an updated room, so one may one to request a renovated floor when booking. It was disappointing, as the room was THE most expensive part of our 3 day trip and not a great value for the money.

Nice location, old and dirty

As you get out of the elevator, you see old brown dingy carpet with duct tape in areas, torn wall paper and it’s dark and dingy. The room was much the same. Tub had mold, curtains were falling down, furniture was scuffed and shakey. It was rough all around. Location was great and staff was nice. Other than that, don’t expect a nice stay

Rude

Pros: The woman at the front desk was very sweet
Location: It’s in Times square
First they gave me a key to a room that was already occupied. So I almost walked in to someone’s room before they had to tell me someone was in there. Then, I was in the hotel no longer than 30 minutes before security came stating I was too loud. So after turning off the tv out of respect for the guest, he arrived back within 3 minutes trying to kick me out. Me and my guest were literally playing cards. No party or anything was going on. The security kicked his foot in my door and threatened me. I will never stay here again.

Deceiving Web Photos/Added Fees at Checkout

Pros: Close to Times Square!
Cons: Renovate Accommodations
Location: Times Sq. within walking distance to Central Park and other historical sites.
Website photos noted modern exterior and room accommodations, upon arrival I was very pleased with the clean exterior and modern lobby. However, once I entered the elevator it was clear this is a very very old hotel. This was also clear upon exiting, hallways were narrow with aged carpeting, though walls had fresh paint bubbles were apperent noting previous drywall damage. Upon entering my room the door squeaked and was clearly from the 70's. My room, though clean, smelled musty and the bathroom (very small) had a slight smell of urine. Drywall above the shower was sagging from previous water damage, likely causing the musty/urine smell. The room walls, though freshly painted, also showed previous drywall damage. Staff was excellent, making the two day stay bearable. However, once checking out i was flabbergasted by the additional taxes & fees. The staff did waive one fee, a daily fee for hotel up-keep, which was nice but disappointing this wasn't relayed at booking.

Great hotel by Times Square

Everything at this hotel was perfect. The location, the rooms, the staff... I had read mixed reviews before my trip but I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of service I received throughout my stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others!

Nothing Like the Pictures

I was very dissapointed with my stay . I was in newyork during a blizard and the lady on customer service gave me a really hard time about checking in early. The hotel looked nothing like the pictures. I was charged a facility fee of 32.66 for nothing because i never received water bottles, ice machine was broken, phone didnt work, the tv wasnt even plugged in . The hotel room it self looked like something from a horror movie very dated and not very clean not to mention the bathroom sink would not stop running. I checked out early.

Great location to Times Square

The hotel is very outdated in décor but the location makes sightseeing in Times Square all within walking distance. We had a very nice trip to NYC.

Hotel Terrible

The hotel that was in the pictures on the travelocity website was not the room at the hotel. It was false advertising. The hotel was terrible, old, had peeling wall paper, hot (unable to get room cool enough to sleep), toilet ran all the time and the bath tub didn’t drain properly. I am not going to recommend this hotel to anyone and next time I come to New York I would rather stay at a Holiday Inn than stay here.

Very noisy

Pros: Location
Cons: Noise level
Location: What is there to say, you are one block from the center of Times Square.
The hotel is located in Times Square, which is very good. However, the rooms have no insulation between them and one can hear everything that is going on. You hear people coming back to the room at 4:00am intoxicated, doors slamming, etc.. You also hear all the car horns and sirens. Unless you also take some ear plugs, do not expect to have a good night of sleep.
