The property is very nice and I love the location, but the staff at the front desk really leave a lot to be desired. I have visited multiple times over the past 6 months and almost every time, I am ignored by the front desk staff while they talk to each other. When they finish their conversation, they wave me up. I have also stayed multiple times at the Westin Grand Central in this same time period and the difference in how I am greeted and treated when I go there is unbelievable. The front desk is welcoming, engaging, and kind. The staff at the Hyatt could learn a lot from them. I continued to stay at the Hyatt because I work in the Met Life building and it's nice not to have to go outside when it's so cold. I would also note that we had a wonderful waiter at the restaurant last week (I wish I remembered his name) and typically the staff in the market is very nice.

I give it a meh plus.

I’ll probably stay here again. I love the location. Good room. Decor a bit tired. Wallpapers need a refresh. I resent the BS fees. Stop nicely and dining your customers!

Nice but....

The rooms were nice and spacious (for NY standards) but they didn't have glasses or even a coffee maker, the housekeeping staff was tardy and the drain hole in my shower had no plug exposing the plumbing underneath, which was very unpleasant to see. The staff else was nice, we were there to celebrate a birthday and they gave us our requested floor.

Disappointing

I guess the hotel was trying to cut fixed cost; no shower gel, no conditioner, no small facial tower. Had to ask for shower gel. Found the refrigerator was turned off. Had to go down to in house convenient store to get water. This is the first time stayed at Hyatt. I dont think i will try it again. Btw, didnt get shower gel after all.

The experience was completely terrible from checkin to checkout. The checkin lady was extremely rude she charged my credit card for fees and deposit without explaining and when trying to inquire she was aggressive. Then during our stay housekeeping services were very slow. And you had to ask for everything. Nothing is in the rooms even the most basic stuff. We asked for slippers they said sorry we don’t have any available. No water in rooms you have to go down and grab it before 11 also no room service whatsoever. Every time you have a guest you have to go down to hotel entrance to let them enter which was so inconvenient. Day of check out I asked for a porter to get my bags down when asked if I could keep my bags they said there is a charge for that while being extremely rude. Called manager no help as well. Will never go there again and I don’t recommend. The only positive is the location
