Stayed a full week in a Panoramic King on the 38th floor for our honeymoon. The Central Park view was the only highlight.
I called ahead as an Expedia Gold VIP Access member to mention our honeymoon. Staff noted it and promised something special. At check-in, nothing. No acknowledgment, no warmth, nothing.
Only 2 of 7 elevators worked the entire trip. Long waits every time to reach the 38th floor.
Every basic amenity felt gated behind the room service hotline to create tipping situations. The room had an empty ice bucket but no ice machine on any floor. Call room service, wait 20 minutes, someone delivers ice and waits for a tip. Same thing when we needed plastic silverware. The lobby bar sent me to the front desk, who sent me to the rooftop restaurant, which was closed. Called room service again, and again someone arrived expecting a tip for handing me a fork.
My complimentary Gold status coffee was another issue. Asked for an iced latte, got a Dixie cup of hot espresso. When I clarified, the worker was rude and dismissive. I never went back.
Doorman never once opened the door for us in seven days.
Stunning location, but the service doesn’t come close to justifying the price. Would not return.
