The beauty of Colorado Springs is on full display year-round. While other cities in Colorado are primarily known for their ski resorts, the milder temperatures and plentiful sunshine in Colorado Springs mean a trip here is a treat in any season.
  Of course, the weather changes throughout the year, with jackets and gloves needed in the winter and shorts being almost a uniform in the summer. But there's a saying in Colorado that there's "no such thing as bad weather," so with that in mind, you can visit any time of year and embrace the upbeat idea that any day can be a great one.    We've put together a some handy seasonal tips to help make planning your trip easier:

Summer

  • In the summer, the long days allow you to really fit in a full day of sightseeing. And good thing too, as all of the attractions will be open at this time of year.
  • Bring your binoculars for a delightful bird-watching trip in the summer, as this is the time when the birds come out to entertain and delight with their songs.
  • If you're really craving that wintery feel, you can visit the North Pole Amusement Park, even in summer.

Winter

  • Head up the Pikes Peak Highway to The Summit House in the winter months to chow down on some of their famously delicious donuts and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area. 
  • Want to see a rainbow waterfall? Check out Broadmoor Seven Falls during the winter holidays. The falls are spectacularly lit up with colorful lights in the evenings.
  • Finish your holiday shopping list in Old Colorado City, where you are sure to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list at the boutique shops and super-cool art galleries.

Fall and Spring

  • Enjoy the changing foliage with a drive to Cripple Creek. When you arrive, check out the free Heritage Center and then spend the rest of the day admiring the gorgeous aspen foliage.
  • Listen to the sound of winter's runoff and spot wildflowers poking through the last of the snow in the Spring.
