"Excellent vacation!"
The hotel is great, very comfortable and accommodating. The room is large and inviting, and has all the space you can possibly want. The pools are large, accessible, clean, and a lot of fun. The beach is beautiful and inviting. The food is okay, nothing more, nothing less; so if you have high expectations, you will be disappointed. They do try and make an effort with the food, especially at the buffet, but they're not quite there. Again, it's perfectly fine and you will always find what to eat, but it's nothing to write home about. Similarly to the food, when it comes to activities, especially children's activities, the staff is really great, and they give it their best effort, but in terms of the kids club and other activities, there's room for improvement, they don't always own up to what's on the flyers and the board, there isn't a whole lot of options, but it's perfectly adequate, and you can leave kids between the ages 4-12 in the kids club, and they can always do some arts and crafts or watch a movie or play Wii.

"Traveling with the kids"
We stayed here last week, for 8 nights. We have stayed in several all-inclusives, including the Grand Velas in Puerto Vallarta. There were four of us, including two kids 8 and 10 years old. First the good: - Best pool I have ever seen. Huge, and perfect for the kids to play in, which they did for 6 hours every day. Beautiful infinite pools, and nice swim up bar, right up to the ocean. The only pool that compares to this is the Grand Velas in Puerto Vallarta. No slides or anything, but the kids still loved it. We never had a hard time getting a chair, but more on that later. -Best food you will ever have at an all-inclusive. 5 star food all of the way, many courses, and you feel like you are eating at the fanciest restaurant in your town, every night. Kids menus at the restaurants that allow kids. I thought is was nice to have some restaurants that do not allow kids, nice to be just my husband and me, and send them to the kids club. -rooms are a good size, with a big patio, that we hung out at a lot. We had a great ocean view that was perfect. Good mini bar that they restock every day, and they will put in things you like, if asked. - great service everywhere, loved Julio at the swim up bar. Always remembered the kids, and made them ask for things in spanish, which was a great way for them to learn. -we were upgraded to the ambassador section, because they were doing some work at the Zen, so glad we were. Nice to be near everything. We did see the Zen section, still very nice, but you would get the jungle feel, and no ocean views at all. Bigger kids club though, which might be nice, if it were busier. Things that were just ok: -No one was there the first week of June. Don't know why. The prices are high, but worth it, and the place was only at 15% capacity, so nice to always get your chairs and reservations, but would have been better to have bit more going on. - there were a few other kids there, but my kids connected with none, like they have at other resorts, so boring for them on that regard. The kids club did none of their scheduled activities, so it was just a place for them to hang out and play xbox, while we went to dinner -Nothing going on at night at all, no music, no bar happenings, nothing. I don't want a raging party, but it would have been nice to have something. I know the place wasn't full, but I wish there was something to do after 9:00. -The rooms are nice, but loud, you can hear everything going on in the bathroom, which isn't always good. The beds are comfortable, but I prefer the rooms at the Grand Velas in Puerto Vallarta. There are two bathrooms in the rooms, and the bedroom area is shut off with a door, so really nice. I was hoping for that here. -the beach itself is nice, with fine white sand, but no place to actually play in the ocean. You can walk 10 minutes either side to do that, but nicer, if it were just in front. Such a great pool, so that helped. Over all really great, we had a nice time, and will probably be back. I think if we were there at a different time of year, I would have all raves.

"Nice hotel, with all facilities and entertainment"
The accommodations were excellent. The only point to remark is about the non smoking rule. Our room was next to one , from which the smoke filtered trough the door, . We should have called the reception area, .. If you correct this problem, we should surely return.

"8 months of research-detailed review-worth the rea"
8 months of research-detailed review-worth the read!! Stayed 6-14 Nov. 2016, booked through Travelocity, reserved Hideaway at Royalton Riviera Maya Cancun, Diamond Club-Room 1403 (building 1-4th floor-room #03) oceanfront, it was one of the best views available. Once you make your reservation you can go to the Royalton website and go to Accommodations> select Online Room Selection and make your room selection, this is an extra $69 that is well worth it! When we made our room selection we took into account that the whole exterior of the resort is surrounded by mangroves and there can be a smell. Mosquitos were a minor issue for my husband but not for me. So remember location, location, location is Peace of mind. If you want to see action choose a pool view, but the ocean front view is quieter. Prepping to go – RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH!!! Apply for passports at least 2 months prior to travel Important** Inform your banks and credit card companies of your international travel First Class air travel is worth it!! • We were first to have bags checks (70lb weight limit v/s 50lbs for coach) • We were first to board • Free drinks and snacks • More leg room (my husband is 6’5”) When booking we realized the cost of the shared taxi service from the airport to the resort is about the same as private transportation service but private transportation will save you time Travel insurance is a true peace of mind Cash should be in US dollars or pesos. Be sure you have enough for the entire t

"Beautiful resort with many amenities."
I traveled with my husband and twin 10 year old boys. We all loved it. The facility is immaculate. They are always cleaning the grounds. I read some of the other reviews and I have to say that I was a little worried about the negative comments. I can honestly say that we didn't have one bad experience. There was no odor, so they must have solved that problem. The beach was pristine, but there is seaweed in the ocean and the water is a little murkey, so we walked along the beautiful beach and swam in the pools (there are many to choose from including a kids area with slides). The staff was friendly and very attentive. The food was good (definitely better than most all-inclusive resorts). The entertainment was great and their was a lot of variety (fire dancers, cover bands, etc.) The Royalton's location is off the beaten path so it is very secluded. It isn't walking distance to anything, but the resort really does have everything you need.

"Comfortable & clean, close to downtown and beach"
One block from the beach. In the downtown shopping strip. Lots of restaurants nearby. Hotel itself has a restaurant downstairs which was great! The guy at the front desk was very nice- we asked him many questions and recommendations and he would give us direct, honest answers! Some things to watch out for: "Continental breakfast" consisted of toast, juice, coffee but you can buy more food off the menu. Rooftop did not have the beach chairs they advertise but it's still nice to go up there. Since the hotel is on the main strip, there is some street noise and you can also hear the restaurant dishes (we were in room 11 which is on the 2nd floor). Noise dies down at around 11:30pm and starts again at about 7am.

"Grand Residences All-Inclusive Resort Review"
My stay was absolutely fantastic! The staff were extremely friendly and courteous and I would definitely return again. Everything about the hotel was perfect, the drinks and food were top of the line. The all-inclusive package it the best way to go. Unlimited meals and drinks, you can't go wrong. The beach was very clean and the pool attendants made sure you were well taken care of. The hotels five star rating is definitely accurate! I was hesitant about staying in a hotel with only one restaurant, but the food was delicious no matter what dish was served. The appetizers, entrees, and desserts were the best food I've tasted by far. I fell in love with the hotel, pool, poolside and beach bar, staff, food and drinks. I couldn't have asked for a better vacation!! I definitely recommend this place, its very low-key and isolated.
