"Pretty good hotel, really close to everything "
The hotel was very close to beach, a lot of shopping and restaurants. The hotel staff were very friendly. The hallways need new carpet desperately and the bathrooms were not very clean. I saw blood splattered on the walls from a previous guest. The shower was not draining very well. However the hotel staff was so kind so I didn't feel right complaining about that. Was hardly in the room and the bedding seemed clean.

"Can't wait to go back!"
Our stay at the Hyatt Centric was terrific. Probably the quietest hotel we've ever stayed at. The front door staff are attentive, friendly, polite and helpful. They are always at the ready to call a cab, load or unload luggage, or grab beach towels and chairs with a smile. The Front Desk staff are equally friendly, helpful and professional. This hotel has a very shallow wading pool, but no swimming pool. The hot tub was not hot at all, which may have been by design. The Hyatt Centric will always be our first choice during future visits to Oahu. We enjoyed the fact that we were in walking distance to the beach, downtown and Diamond Head.

"Nice location but noisy neighborhood"
Hotel tell has a good location in that it's close to the beach and the Waikiki area, plus there are bus stops close by for many bus routes. But be aware, the neighborhood is noisy. Right by the hotel are several bars, including an all nude XXX bar. There's are a couple "straight" bars and one gay bar back in an alley. And there's a bar at the bottom of the hotel. At night the neighborhood is noisy from the music coming out of these bars. On the nights I stay, they were even shooting fireworks that were exploding near my 16th floor window. And there are prostitutes in the area. I was solicited three times my first night. Add to that the current construction going on in the area which promptly begins at 8 am and fills the neighborhood with that noise all day. Given all that, the hotel wasn't all that bad for the price because it is conveniently located in the Waikiki area. I was able to mostly sleep through the bar noise and I was gone during the day away from the construction noise. The rooms are very basic. The kitchenette had sufficient utensils.

"Best Trip Ever!"
One of the reasons we love this hotel is because we are always treated like family. Thank you to Mike Nakada, Roland, Evelyn Alanda and Lawrence. They were all very helpful and attentive. The reason we return. Chuck and the beach services staff are friendly and accommodating on the best beach on Waikiki. It is so relaxing just to sit and enjoy the view. The tower view of the ocean and Diamond Head is amazing. The sunset is beautiful. We love the historic section of this hotel, but the tower is a fun change of pace. We absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone considering a trip to Oahu. It is peaceful and the surrounding gardens are beautiful and well maintained. Mahalo to our Hawaiian family.
