Our initial room was faced to major construction. We had to have our room moved because it was so loud. The hotel gave us a complimentary upgrade in a different tower which made up for the poor room condition (room 618). Hotel staff was great, everyone was extremely nice and it was perfect location to Waikīkī beach!

For the price and standard of Hyatt Regency: * The hotel rooms were not up to mark old and a bit dilapidated * Check in experience was not very welcoming, especially given my experience at Marriott Waikīkī that was substantially better (prompt service, welcoming, lei, taking care of bags etc) * Ordered once from the Swim restaurant (waffle fries, coconut shrimp, and Calamari) and it was so bad, with likely old oil and garlic! We threw away 80% of it and the little that we had left a terrible taste in mouth and constant burps for 12 hours. I mean this was the most god awful fries, shrimp or calamari I have ever had!! * Bonus, I am a discoverist member and while I know I don’t earn points or nights on 3rd party bookings, basic things like recognition and late check out is not honored! (I know Marriott and Hilton are no better) I have already earned the status with the brand, the least they can do is honor it! I know it’s the brand and not the property, but the property is associated with the brand and is guilty by association.

We absolutely love staying at the Hyatt. The beach access is incredible and there is literally anything you could want within a 10 minute walk. Lots to do!! The staff and rooms are amazing. And the ocean view is one of the best out there. Highly recommend!

Room needed an upgrade, furniture looked old. With the cost of the room and resort fees, they could of giving us an updated room. Hyatt is loosing their touch. They used to welcome you(if you're a repeat customer)with a lei. Now you have to buy it from a vending machine. I will not patronize this establishment again. I'll wait for the new Hilton.

The room was clean, though showing some age (peeling wallpaper, etc.). There was construction outside of the window early every morning. The parking was $65/day though the Expedia description said $60. The parking garage is almost entirely full if you arrive back later than 8pm. The resort fees are high and NOT included in the Expedia “what you pay” price. The rooms are also not well lit, and no water was provided. On the bright side, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the location convenient.
