Our room was with breathtaking view. Hotel beach is one of the best beaches on the island. The staff was excellent. It was first time I visit the island, and they provided me the full information about the weather, attractions, places to eat. Nice place to stay.

We originally had a garden view room but upon arrival saw that our room overlooked a major construction site, therefore we upgraded to an ocean view. Best decision as it was perfect. 4 th floor, by pool with an amazing ocean view.

Escape Wisconsin Winter Vacation

Pros: Not much of anything!
Cons: Transparency in room description, full disclosure of what one is paying for and what can be expected prior to arrival. Cut the deceptive descriptions!
Location: Lots of nice restaurants off site, nice drive up to the canyons, snorkeling.
Upon checking, in we found out that our room was across the road, away from the main hotel. Entering the room I would have sworn I was in a Motel 6! Tiny room, clean but tiny! Our "garden view" room had a great view of the asphalt parking lot! Oh they forgot to mention heavy construction that was on going adjacent to the hotel, so the loud sound and vibrations of jackhammering equipment breaking concrete was going on only from 8 am through 5 pm daily! Having worked for over 30 years in the food business, I am a proponent of hiring the elderly and semi retired folks for the appropriate jobs, however while sitting poolside at the hotel the service staff could not have been slower! Only one bartender for the poolside guest and the hotel restaurant made for virtually very limited service! Sitting poolside one day I happen to notice a rather large gathering of scum circling inside the pool on the surface. This was made up of what appeared to be suntan lotion, leafs, and other litter that was blown into the pool. This scum remained for days. Upon reaching out to the hotel manager to express our concerns, the only response from the manager was bitterly "OK". NEVER AGAIN! Under staffed, poorly maintained, complete disregard for customer service.

Ok hotel- looks better on the brochure than in person but you are not in Hawaii to stay in the room. Very friendly staff. They were doing construction during our stay, so noisy otherwise no complaints

construction during our stay ruined a lot. small pool closed, main pool surrounded by workers and scaffolding. $31 a day for "resort" fee ridiculous. nice beach, clean rooms, good staff. most rooms across street from main area, few activities, a so so place

Nice hotel on the beach.

Pros: The location of this hotel was excellent. It has a lovely beach area and is close to shopping and restaurants.
Cons: The Rum Fire restaurant was not worth the money. We hoped to have a nice ocean view, however, we only saw a reflection of ourselves through the window

Not what I paid for

Paid extra to stay in a garden view with a king bed. Showed up and got a double bed in a room that smelled of water damage and mold and carpets that were clearly not vacuumed and air conditioning that didn't work. Spent the next several days sweating in a hot room that smelled and legs that hung half way off the bed since I'm tall and sharing a double bed with my lady. The mattress is long since worn out and you could feel every spring holding you up. This is not a cheap hotel but the quality is very cheap. I'll never stay there ever again.

Very expensive mistake

Pros: The location was great, the fire pits were beautiful and the free singers and dancers were very nice in the lounging areas.
Cons: Beds exchanged to queens instead of doubles, better air conditioning units in the rooms and adult hours for the pools
Location: You don't need to leave, beautiful beach. Nearby is a shopping center that had live music,
I was excited to book this looking at the website. We like Sheridan on Maui. I booked for two adults and two kids. They gave us two double beds. I was surprised they even have double beds anymore. Two queens at most cheaper hotels is the norm and would have been better for a good night of sleep. The air conditioning unit was old and near the window and was not enough to cool the room properly. While the person next to it was cold, the rest of the people in the room sweated all night. We were moving from a condo with a one night gap in our reservations, and I thought this would be a nice treat right on the beach. We had some food with us and promptly put it in the refrigerator. Next morning we realized the refrigerator was not on. We've never had to turn on a fridge in a room before, so we didn't think to check it. We had some food spoilage. The bathroom door did not lock and the unit was older. Thinking we would relax by the pool, it was a crazy kid kingdom with kids running all over, climbing on the rocks at the side of the pool, jumping as kids do, and no room for adults. The whole pool was full of unattended kids while the parents were relaxing. Only a few adults were actually with their kids. I guess that's vacation for them, but we watch our kids. Chaos was the scene we beheld. We made a little safe zone by moving lawn chairs to a grass area and finally enjoyed the sunset as most the kids and parents went to eat dinner.
