The room and amenities were fine, however I was charged $80 for checking in early. I live and work on a small remote Pacific Island which is across the international dateline and when I booked the room it was for arrival on 30 October and departure on the 31. I arrived to Honolulu at 3 am on October 30 and due to flight issues checked out later that same day. I was not aware of the early check in fee prior to booking the room and did not consider the arrival date and time to be an issue. When I discussed this with the onsite manager, I was told I should have booked for check in on the 29th and out on the 30th which would have allowed me to check in at any time AFTER 3pm on the 29th (which would allow for the 3AM arrival and check out by noon on the 30th. The manager was unwilling to negotiate on this issue. Is there any way to rectify the extra $80 I had to spend or will this just be a lesson learned? thank you
