The reception practically does not exist. It consists of a few desks on the third floor next to the swimming pool, without a single chair. We have traveled to over 50 countries and have never seen anything like this. It is unbelievable that this is considered acceptable.
The building is very old, and the renovation that was done is below an acceptable standard. Nightstands and other furniture were painted with a sticky paint, apparently without proper sanding, and the same poor finish was used even in the bathroom. There are no amenities provided other than towels and liquid soap.
Breakfast is not available unless ordered in advance, and there is only one option per day with no variety. The bar/restaurant is almost impossible to access without a prior reservation, as it is always fully booked, so we had no opportunity to eat at the hotel at all. The bed sheets are a 60% cotton / 40% polyester blend, which is very uncomfortable in this humid climate. Housekeeping service is provided only every second day, which is not the standard expected from a four-star hotel.
We stayed for 10 days and could not wait to leave, as the comfort level was far below what we believed we were paying for.
The only pleasant aspect of the hotel was the staff — everyone was warm, welcoming, and friendly, including the cleaning staff and the valet parking team, who were easy and pleasant to deal with.
I would not recommend this hotel to friends and will not be returning.
