The communication was prompt, the view was beautiful, the location was ideal. There were plenty of beach items to use while there. The king size bed was comfortable.The unit does need some maintainence but overall it wasa pretty decent place.We had issues with the locks, the TV but they responded promptly. The shower grout is a bit gross and there is a definite musty smell under the kitchen sink.

We had a wonderful time at this property. The location is close to the Duke lagoon, beach, shopping, restaurants, Friday fireworks just to name a few. The views are beautiful. You can’t see the actual sunrise or sunset but you can see the gorgeous colors they produce and watch the boating and surfing activity from the balcony. The bed is extremely comfortable. It is a short walk to Magic Island where there is a sea lagoon for learning scuba diving or just snorkeling or swimming. The views there are stunning. And if you want shopping the world’s largest mall is across from the park. We enjoyed learning about the history of the Ilikai and the surrounding areas. People are very friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

The location was fine and the bed was comfortable; however, the apartment itself was shabby and neglected-looking. It needed a deep cleaning of the kitchen stove, the shower and the balcony. It lacked a dishwasher, so the dishes and utensils provided were dubiously clean to start. An undersized TV and a ridiculous tangle of wires were the focus of the room. The furniture was sad and the few amenities provided seemed cheap and minimal. Nothing "thoughtful" or personal about this place and no clue how "executive suite" could be used to describe it.

The building itself is quite old but the room was well cleaned, located in a convenient place, equipped with almost everything we need and we had a great time in Hawaii.

5 hours prior to my flight I had a Med. Emergncy & was hospitalized. I'm unable to travel. My son who goes to school at UH Manoa was not able to use all 10 days ofmy stay but did enjoy a few nights of the booking. He showed me pictures and FaceTimed me so I was ablesaw to see via video the location. Everything was as listed, a different base blanket on the bed and different sofa than what is in the listing but absolutely equal to what is shown. Since the emergncy happened happened just hours prior to my arrival and I didnt have travel insurance i was still liable. The host was quick to respond to every communication 10/5The accommodations from what I saw in vedeo & pictures and input from my son.

Not as advertised / old and run down

The suite was NOT a suite and the VRBO site advertisement was very misleading. The room was not well kept at all. Railings on the lanai had old bird poop all over them. There was also a bunch of beach stuff haphazardly piled in a corner of the lanai. The fitted Sheets did not fit the bed popped off when you sat on tbe bed. Very disappointed with this rental. I have pictures, but the site won't allow me the attach below

THIS PLACE ROCKS!

Nothing like waking up every morning and eating breakfast on the balcony while watching the surfers within eyeshot. This rental is an incredible location and the property is lovely. Our only snag was a fridge that went on the fritz but was fixed within one day. Parking is clumsy and expensive. And it can be a long wait for elevators. But we would stay again in a heartbeat.

Nice Stay by the beach

Our stay was great. Walking distance to just about everything. The hotel itself was nice. It is an older place that could use new carpet, but it appeared to be vacuumed. Check-in was very easy, great communication and instructions. Would stay there again

What you see if what you get

The photos show exactly what it is. The room definitely needs upgrading, but it was comfortable. We had great communication with the property management people and all inquiries were handled quickly and efficiently. We have stayed at the Ilikai for many years (always a different suite). You can’t beat the location and not having to pay the resort fees to stay on the beach (can be 50 US/day) is a real bonus.

Fantastic Vacation - awesome views

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this property. It was perfect for our needs. I would say this property is perfect for two people but would be crowded with any more than that. The bed is comfortable , the kitchen is stocked well enough for simple meals ,the view of the ocean from the lanai is awesome. We enjoyed breakfast and coffee every morning on this lanai. The location of this property is the quiet end of Waikiki and is a short 5 minute walk to the beach. The one thing I would say is that the first picture on this posting is not accurate. You cannot see the sunset from the lanai, but having said that the view is awesome. (Also just for reference, you also cannot see the Friday night fireworks from this lanai)Neither of these were a big deal as a short 5 minute walk and all these views are available The communications and the response from the marabella team is probably the best I have experienced in any rental. We would definitely stay here again

Fantastic location and view!

We had a great stay overall. Opening the curtains every morning to an ocean view was really amazing! The bathroom, especially the shower, could really use some tlc and updating. The suite was a good size for a couple, and we appreciated the beach chairs and umbrella that were available for our use.

Ideal for a fun week solo

The room is very nicely arranged and very comfortable. The views from the balcony are relaxing, especially at dusk. You get the quieter side of Waikiki but with the beach an easy walk away and plenty of bars and restaurants in the area.

Wonderful room/unexpected noise

The property across the alley had a large, noisy (bullhorns & drum banging), 7am-10pm protest. It had been going on for THREE weeks prior to our stay. We should have been notified. The manager refunded 20% which was appreciated. The Ilikai is superb; the room 4 stars - with everything we needed and a great view. We appreciated the beach chairs especially!

Had a nice stay but there were flaws

First time coming to Hawaii and it was a nice stay. The pictures were not up to date. For example it shows a couch that has a pull out bed but what was in there was a futon, it shows two storage drawer shelves but there was only one. There were scuffs/chipped paint on the entry wall and a broken picture that had been taped. Also wanted to point out there is no dish washer or closet. A plus is they were quick to reply to my emails when I couldn’t enter with the code provided and when I needed clean towels.

Ocean view, prime spot for being on Waikiki beach and also quiet.

Our place was great. Nice space, perfect location for us. When I needed to connect with the host they were very responsive and helpful. We needed wine glasses and they delivered that first night a brand new set of 4. A couple of things were not working perfectly and I let them know so they would be report the next guests. TV system would not work for us but we didn’t really mind. I also did not ask about figuring it out because we were busy with our plans for Oahu! A smart tv would be a good investment to make a smoother and easier process for guests but again for us no tv was fine. Hotel was nice also, condo owners in the hotel don’t have as many privileges but not that affected us. The restaurant on the bottom floor Cinnamon (?) was closed the entire time and should be updated in the listing. Overall I would stay there again: location, ocean view and peaceful spot.
