"This resort was well marketed for my search for a special place in the Keys. Photos of the prime areas are on their site. Somewhat aged property with attention to serving guests, clean & quiet, easy to find. Evidence that in hurricane environment it would be challenging to keep updated & perfect (such as weathered lumber on decks & stairs where we stayed) Excellent staff& breakfast, outdoor amenities are as represented. Very pleasant grounds with new sand on the beach area. Initially we were placed in a tiny basic room across the road but staff kindly moved us to ocean side. Be aware when booking: The basic room is truly basic- plain walls, tile floor. Jasmine room needs considerable updating in bathroom for the price. I was unprepared for the tiny, old, reconditioned tub floor that was very unappealing. Windy weather prevented use of kayaks or paddle boards-disappointing us-yet you will pay the additional daily use fee for outdoor amenities. "

"Taco Tuesday with trivia and live music at the Tiki Bar was a lot of fun. The room could use some updates and coffee in room would have been nice. Otherwise the beds were comfy and staff was friendly. Location was great for proximity to some nice parks and wildlife spotting."

"Greeted by very friendly staff and the room was very clean and spacious and came with everything you would need for your stay. All staff was very nice and accommodating. Lots to do around the area and only 30 minutes away from Key West. Would definitely stay here again!"

"It was a time capsule! If you like the '70's vib, it is great. The rooms were clean. The pool was clean. Great location! The tiki bar hasn't been used as a bar in a long time. However, it was a nice place to sit and have a morning coffee. Oh, The views were awesome!"

"I was extremely disappointed with the Hammerhead floating cabin. It looked nothing like the photos. The listing shows a bright, clean, fresh space with clear windows, but in reality the walls and ceiling were in rough condition and poorly maintained. Cleanliness was a major issue. There was a large fish hook left on the decking that could have injured my dog or me. Trash was stuffed in the patio table umbrella hole, a beer cap was left on the deck, crumbs were around the toaster, residue was smeared on the countertops, and dirt was on the floor. The windows were so dirty you could barely see out. The setup was uncomfortable and poorly arranged. The dining table sat directly next to the window AC unit, making it loud with cold air blowing on us. You couldn’t properly face the TV from the table, and from the couch you had to turn your head sideways. The couch was extremely uncomfortable and worn. There was no hot water in the shower. In the bedroom, cords were shoved beside the nightstand, which could be a safety issue for kids. A note asking for a cleaning tip $$ which felt inappropriate given the condition. It also wasn’t disclosed that someone would enter Thursday morning to service the toilet, what an inconvenience. The “view” was mostly a rusted boat and gas can. Overall, it was a major letdown. Maybe, the other floating cabins were maintained better???? "
