This is one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. They canceled our reservation and moved it to another hotel the week before traveling due to construction. It took 3 phone calls to get our reservation confirmed at Margaritaville Resorts. We were looking for an adults only hotel. I was told at checkout that we were comped a free night for all the inconvenience. We found out afterwards this was not true. After two weeks of unreturned emails and phone calls,I was to told that the $746 charges would not be reversed.

Great staff from the front desk to the drivers and the staff at the pool/bar area. Everyone was courteous and welcoming. One area of the hotel was under construction but that didn’t interfere with the fun. Initially in room 123 but there was a strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom, they moved us without a problem. The pool area was a great time daily. And the hourly bus ride into town was convenient. The hotel also has bike and other vehicle rentals on site which is super convenient as well. We rented the bikes one morning returning them late at night after dinner which was a fun day of touring key west from the southern most point to roost is for dinner. Great time in Key west!

“Extra Fees Without Real Perks — Not Worth the Value The hotel is very clean and comfortable, and the regular staff was friendly and helpful. However, the $55 daily resort fee felt high for what’s included—things like the pool, housekeeping, and shuttle service that most Key West hotels already include. The shuttle doesn’t start until 9 a.m., so it’s not useful for early flights. When we booked, it was listed as an adults-only property, but that policy had changed, and we were never notified—so having children running around was an unexpected surprise. Management never responded to our questions about the change. While the complimentary afternoon churros and smoothies are a nice idea, most guests spend their time exploring the Keys, so those perks don’t add much value. Overall, a nice property, but not worth the added fees or lack of communication.

The stay was overall enjoyable minus the fact that the rules for adult only had changed prior to our visit. My only wish for a possible return visit is that they would keep that as a standard instead of a flip-flop.

Had a great time at the Havana Cabana!

We had a great stay at the Havana Cabana. It was a bit outside downtown Key West (5-10 min drive), but they have an hourly shuttle downtown which super convenient; we used multiple times a day. I think this was just about ideal. Free easy parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely pool and bar area with places for games and relaxation. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Nice balcony, ours faced the pool area. All the room amenities worked great. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Key West. We will certainly stay here again during our next trip to the Keys.
