Old, seedy, run down, friendly.

Posted Aug 19, 2015
Pros: Nice staff.
Cons: About $4 million in repairs.
Location: Lots of stuff to do on International Dr. Pirates Cove Miniature Golf across the street is probably as old as the run-down Avanti, but is immaculate.
My wife's face dropped when she saw the place. It doesn't just need a new coat of paint over the old stucco. It's had lots of those, and it looks old and seedy. Parking lot is in poor repair. Many of the room air conditioning units leak on the outside walkways, and little streams cross your path as you make your way to the room and leave black stains where they drip off the ledges. If you are not lucky enough to be on the top floor, air conditioner condensate leakage drips on you as you go to your room. The rooms are almost okay. They don't stink like some similarly run down hotels. They have laminate floors instead of carpet, which I don't like so well. The bathroom was not remodeled so well, and it was not very clean. The floor grout around the toilet is discolored, and the shower has black mildew stains on the tile and grout. The toilet had a film in areas inside where it hasn't been scrubbed. The swimming pool was discolored, making it look dirty, but it probably just needs new paint or new plaster. Staff was nice. Concierge was especially helpful. Overall, I did not like it.

Unexpected - But Good!

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: The interior of the room; the pool and hot tub.
Cons: The bathroom could use updates
Location: The location is near everything. You can walk to dine and driving to theme parks is not far at all.
The pictures online make this hotel look like a 4 star hotel. When we pulled up, the exterior looked more like a 2 star hotel. BUT we were pleasantly surprised with the interior of the rooms. The floors are laminate wood - which is nice because in Florida, hotels with carpet tend to be damp and humid. Plus carpets are really gross anyways, they keep so much dirt in them. We had a king bed and a sofa bed couch for the kid. It has a wall divider which is great to be able to feel like you are in your own space. Bed was comfortable, bathroom sink/counter was really nice, the actual bathroom was a bit small and the tile could be updated, there is a small kitchen area with a mini-fridge and coffee maker. The room was bigger than we expected. The pool was amazing! Hot tub was perfect to relax in after spending all day at Universal. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and I would rate it a 3 star hotel.

Very nice hotel, comfortable beds, clean

Posted Jul 26, 2015
Pros: Beds where awesome, pool nice and big with array of depths for young and older. The humidifier in the room was great all hotels should have them.
Cons: Nothing everything was great
Location: Hotel was close to everything and within walking distance to restaurant and Walgreens, right off international blvd and easy to get to
Awesome will be back great pool, close to everything, front desk was helpful with restaurant choices and gave us coupons. Very helpful and the pool side bar and cafe where great. We slept like a baby, enjoyed ourselves very much. Was worth the money and have already planned our next trip. Thank you very much

Great location and decent for the price

Posted May 13, 2015
Pros: Location, location, location! Nice pool area as well.
Cons: A bit more cleanliness in the rooms but all and all was fine.
Location: Many restaurants and enough shopping for the entire trip. Trolley stop very close and it will take you up/down I-Drive to other attractions.
I would consider this a viable option for my next Orlando trip. Room was fine, pool was great and location superb!

nice hotel

Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Almost everything.
Cons: The ac could be a bit quieter.
Location: Plenty of bars restaurants shops and I trolley on doorstep
Ideally placed on International drive lots of restaurants and bars nearby, the pool area is very nice with plenty of sun loungers also the pool and bar are open from 7am until 11 pm every day so when you have done the parks you can cool down in the pool and relax (not advertised but the pool and bar was open until 12 on Friday and Saturday) which was a bonus. The rooms were ok and clean bathroom a bit on the small side but served its purpose, all in all would stay there again.

International Drive !!!!!!

Posted Apr 11, 2015
The hotel was in the perfect place , on international drive. I had to take a cab there from the airport cause I was unable to get a rental car but because that hotel was close to everything and it provides shuttle bus service to amusement parks, it made my time in Orlando much smoother.

Close to everything; room service sucks!

Posted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: Quick check-in and room availability.
Cons: Timeliness of room service
Location: Lots of restaurants, Convention Center, shopping
Overall the hotel is a strong OK. It was close to restaurants, shops, and attractions so that part was good. Also, I arrived several hours before check-in time and the staff was able to get me into a room right away. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Downside is room service consistently came really late (like 7-8pm), there was no continental breakfast (you have to pay for everything), and the housekeeping staff mainly only speaks Spanish. If you are just looking for a cheap place to stay, with a decent bed, and ok with eating Denny's for breakfast (it's across the street) then this hotel will be fine for you.
