Millennium Knickerbocker

163 East Walton Place, Chicago - Map
"Close to N. Michigan Avenue"
The Millennium Knickerbocker is charming hotel located on E. Walton Street and 1 block East of the ever popular Michigan Avenue. Upon entering the hotel there is a cocktail lounge to one side and the other side is Nix Restaurant which serves breakfast and lunch daily. The food at Nix is very good on both the two times that I went there. I had a Standard King Sized Room. The room was tastefully decorated with what I believe was a 42" TV. This was my first stay at the Millennium Knickerbocker and I must say I love everything about this charming hotel.

Hotel Lincoln

Clean, friendly staff, and gorgeous! My husband and I came for our one year anniversary and we could not have been more pleased! The location was perfect, not too far from downtown Chicago, but also far enough to really enjoy the local living! Plus, the hotel is located right off of Lincoln Park and the room we had (lake view) was spectacular! The rooftop lounge was fun and my husband and I found ourselves having a drink and enjoying the view to wind down after exploring the city. We also tried out the attached café (every day!) which we also loved. The hotel staff is excellent! They sent texts before and during our stay to see if there was anything we needed, which we thought was a nice touch. Our hotel attendant, Nicole, was very friendly and even wished us a happy anniversary after seeing our anniversary cards sitting on the mantel. We arrived to our hotel that same night with a sweet towel swan display waiting for us. We would definitely choose this hotel again for our next trip.

"Nice Hotel"
This hotel was nice and intimate. We stayed there for labor day we were a little upset about the rooftop being closed and the shower didn't work properly but over all it was a good stay.

Publics Hotel offered a nice room at a great price. Excellent staff help. Good coffee bar reasonably priced considering the free refills all day. Within walking distance to public transportation. Hotel restaurant was over priced for our budget, but other restaurants in the area were great.

The Regency is a nice hotel which is nicely situated within walking distance to the Magnificent Mile and the Loop (closer to the Mile). The Big Bar is a nice place to get a drink and something quick to eat. Stetson's Restaurant serves good food & sushi. There is a little "market" that is open almost 24 hrs/day to pick up things.

    Chicago Beach Hotel Guide

If you close your eyes, you can hear the crowds cheering at Wrigley Field from here. Yes, you long for a trip to the land of pan pizza and the Magnificent Mile, a city so sparkly they had to put a giant metallic bean in the middle where all the shimmer can bounce off the side and play in the sky. And while you’re no stranger to the epicurean adventures to be had in The Windy City, you also love to visit the city in the summer and soak up the sun. Between the Chicago River and Lake Michigan, you won’t be left wanting for places to gaze at the water or even get in and play for a while. Book Chicago hotels on the beach with Travelocity, and you’ll wake up to a serene view. Yes, that’s some wise wandering.

Where are the best beaches in Chicago?

There are no fewer than two dozen beaches in Chicago, a fact that may surprise the island-hoppers in your social circle. Among the best are Oak Street Beach and the 31st Street Beach. Oak Street Beach is near Michigan Avenue and all of its appeal, while the 31st Street Beach offers up a spectacular skyline view along with a picnic area and fishing dock. Stay at one of our top Chicago beach hotels, and you can walk to the sand with morning coffee in hand.

What are the best restaurants in Chicago with a view of the water?

Chicago is brimming with eateries that spoil you with views of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan while you dine.

    • Castaways Bar & Grill: For some of the best water views in The Windy City, pull up a chair at this restaurant on North Avenue Beach with a colorful outdoor dining area and juicy burgers.
    • Sixteen: For an upscale experience, check out this eatery along the Chicago River. Located on the 16th floor, your eyes can guzzle the view while you savor a fine glass of wine.
    • North Pond: This establishment offers quiet dining just steps from the pond in Lincoln Park, not to mention a seafood menu so delightful you won’t mind the butter running down your chin in front of everyone.

What food should you eat while in Chicago?

After you sink your teeth into a divinely gooey slice of deep-dish pizza, there is yet more food to be discovered in Chicago. While pizza and hot dogs tend to make the headlines when it comes to Chi-Town food, St. Louis-style ribs, Korean chicken wings, and chocolate-covered churros are also must-try dishes in this diverse city. While you’re at it, slurp up some noodles and top it all off with a bowl of gelato.

You want to do some retail therapy and be surrounded by homespun charm, but you’re not ready to give up the dream of finding some sand in your jeans for months to come. Head to Chi-Town, where the best of metropolitan and beachy meet. When you book Chicago beachfront hotels, like the Chicago Lake Shore Hotel or Thompson Chicago, your vacation is off on the right sandal-clad foot already.
