Fantastic visit

Location was great. Staff was wonderful and kind. Gave us a room with a balcony. We had a perfect view of the Navy Pier fireworks. I’d highly recommend the breakfast buffet. It was delicious and upscale.

Great Hotel

The hotel is amazing and it’s walking distance from Millennium Park. 7th floor “city view” wasn’t very nice though. There’s a balcony above and below your window so your field of vision is very limited vertically. Add in the tall surrounding buildings and there’s nothing to see. Next time I’ll get a room higher up.

Amazing hotel!

We were looking for a hotel with all the amenities... and the Radisson NAILED IT! If your looking for a hotel close to the action this is it... if your looking for a hotel you can stay for days in the room and never need to leave THIS IS IT... beautiful room the shower was amazing!! The balcony was amazing the bed was comfortable it was just a great weekend! The staff was helpful with recommendations on food and helping us Uber and do things that we were not used to doing being from a small town!!! The hotel parking was a bit confusing for us out GPS took us into the parking garage instead of having dropped us at the front door BUT it worked out and we were able to leave the car in the garage for the entire trip with no worries!!! However they have valet so if your gonna use your own vehicle to go around that is available as well! Definitely would go back and recommend to anyone going to Chicago!

Small room

Maybe because we booked through Travelocity that we got a small room, but it was OK, we didn't spend too much time there. We go downtown every Christmas and have been in many different hotels, and this was the smallest room we ever had. That being said, the fitness room was top notch and the bar area was cozy, we did not have any food there during our stay.

Thank you for the review. We're pleased to see you enjoyed your overall stay at the Blu but do apologize that you felt your room was on the smaller side. Each of our guestrooms are unique in shape and size, but this is no reflection of your booking channel. We hope for the opportunity to welcome you again and exceed your expectations.

Nice hotel but beware of last-minute "urban fee"

Cons: Get rid of the "urban fee." Just increase the room rate already, if you really need to.
This is a nice hotel in a good location, but at the very last minute, with no warning, they impose a bs "urban fee" of $20. When checking out, I inquired at the desk what this sudden "urban fee" was, and was told that it was "to help maintain the fitness center and pool" (neither of which we had used). It's really a rip-off, "oh, by the way, your room is going to cost an extra 10%, which we're not going to tell you about until we shove the little bill for it under your door the morning you're leaving." Really bad practice. Really bad PR.

Paula, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The Urban Fee provides guests unlimited access to our many amenities including the health club, pool, game room, business center, complimentary WiFi and more. This fee is noted in all of our booking channels including Travelocity under Mandatory Hotel Fee - Resort Fee. We do apologize that you felt this wasn't properly communicated. We are addressing this internally to ensure our staff is better educating our guests on the available amenities. We hope for the opportunity to welcome you again when travels bring you back to the area.

Excellent hotel and location

I arranged the room through travelocity just three hours before arrival to Chicago. Everything went smoothly. Excellent room and hotel personel. Just a warning: there is an automatic sensor in the mini bar. If you happen to move something in it you get automatically charged. Just tell the front desk so they can remove the accidental charges. Beyond that, great location! All the attractions are in walking distance. We highly recommend Eataly and Ema as dining choices.

Beautiful, cool

Pros: Great view, great furniture, competent staff.
Cons: Parking could be more affordable.
Location: Location close to Millenium Park, Art Institute, Magnificent Mile, Grant Park, Museum Campus. Chicago Cultural Center is a magnficent building.
Hotel is new, beautiful, cool, great facilities, location. The staff is competent and has good morale. Beautiful collection of Vivian Maier photographs in lobby. Only drawback is that parking in the Millenium Park, Chicago River area is expensive, but hotel stay was worth it.
