Excellent hotel and location

I arranged the room through travelocity just three hours before arrival to Chicago. Everything went smoothly. Excellent room and hotel personel. Just a warning: there is an automatic sensor in the mini bar. If you happen to move something in it you get automatically charged. Just tell the front desk so they can remove the accidental charges. Beyond that, great location! All the attractions are in walking distance. We highly recommend Eataly and Ema as dining choices.

Beautiful, cool

Pros: Great view, great furniture, competent staff.
Cons: Parking could be more affordable.
Location: Location close to Millenium Park, Art Institute, Magnificent Mile, Grant Park, Museum Campus. Chicago Cultural Center is a magnficent building.
Hotel is new, beautiful, cool, great facilities, location. The staff is competent and has good morale. Beautiful collection of Vivian Maier photographs in lobby. Only drawback is that parking in the Millenium Park, Chicago River area is expensive, but hotel stay was worth it.

Super Mod

Pros: Boutique feel with great service.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of.
Location: There for business.
I didn't expect this hotel to be as boutique and modern as it was. The staff were great, very fast check-in, fun bar with attentive staff, GREAT large room with a nice view. I was very pleasantly surprised, expecting more of a Radisson of days gone by!

Anniversary getaway

We decided to get a little different perspective on our city for our anniversary.  This hotel is very new, modernist in style, and well appointed.  It shares a tower with condo units on the upper floors and boasts a great fitness center and indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a large terrace overlooking a small park ringed by high rises.  No direct lake view but you can see little slices between the buildings.  Our room was a south facing "park view" -- there is a Fire Department station on the north side that could generate some noise.  For a little more, you can have a balcony.  The room was a little smaller than expected but very nice, and the bath included both a walk-in shower and soaking tub.  Only one hook and no towel bars, though.  There is onsite self-parking accessible from the south side of Upper Columbus or the east side of Lower Columbus--it is a bit of a maze but navigable with a little patience.  The only negatives were a very slow check-in blamed on late linen service, an in-room safe that refused to lock, and climate control system that did not seem to keep the room cool enough.  The latter two could have been attributed to our unfamiliarity with the systems.  Also the price, which seemed high but was competitive for the area on that date.  All in all a good experience.
