The hotel from the outside looks nice, as does the lobby. As soon as you reach the room you’ll realize you’ve been duped. I’m my room the walls/ceiling were peeling and the ceiling appeared to have water damage as a rust color was exposed by said peeling paint. The room fixtures looked nothing like the pictures provided, and the bathroom was a mess. The sink literally had missing dry wall behind it because the fixtures were installed too close to the wall, and the mirror had a crack. Since it was the weekend of the Chicago Marathon I had no choice but to stick out the stay which was part of a birthday present for my GF. Without a doubt, the worst hotel room I’ve booked on Travelocity.

We checked in on early Thursday evening. We had our anniversary dinner that evening. Returned to our room (502) to find that the air conditioning was making a very loud noise and cycling on and off several times as if it was beginning to seize and then cycle on? We were so tired that we decided not to inform the front desk that evening but informed the front desk the following morning. They informed us that engineering would be notified. Upon returning Friday evening after our day out at the Cubs game and dinner; the air conditioning was the same.

Worse than a Super 8

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Dirty, old, dilapidated. The AC unit didn't work, the filter fell out. Tried calling down to have it fixed - the phone didn't work. Asked at the front desk, they said they'd take care of it. They did not. Had to ask again. Finally fixed. Then the filter fell out again. I got upgraded. The upgraded room was at least cleaner - it was a suite so I'm sure fewer people have stayed in the room. When I left and asked about some kind of refund, remarkably there were no complaints on file under my profile. But, I could take it up with Travelocity. I asked how would they know when there was nothing on my profile? Oh, Angela took plenty of notes, Even showed me and my daughter the piece of paper. So, I have a witness Angela. Then, of course, Travelocity says they can't do anything because there is nothing on file about complaints. Surprise surprise!

Inn of Chicago

Pros: Great staff! There was a leak in my room that the staff didn't know about. I alerted them and they immediately moved me to another room.
Cons: N/A
Location: Located right on Madison & Ohio. 10 minute walk to Grand Street where you can take free rides to Navy Pier. 15 minute walk to The Bean/Millennial Park
The hotel had this sketchy feel to it but honestly, that's what made it the best in an odd way. The rooms are great, can't complain about the price. Only thing we were mislead on was breakfast. No breakfast but wifi was included. I visited in the winter so I was barely on the rooftop of the hotel but I can only imagine was the view is like in the summer. Can't complain, great staff! Just make sure you do physically print your receipt/itinerary. Just in case, since they couldn't originally find me in the system.

Great location/terrible facility

Pros: Staff was very sympathetic and responded to our request for room changes. Comped first night.
Cons: I guess you get what you pay for.
Location: Centrally located to Mag Mile shopping and restaurants.
Had to change rooms twice in one night.......first problem:mechanical room next door, loud humming sound. Second time next door to party central, changed rooms at 4 am......neighbors were eventually evicted. Hallway carpets were raggy and torn......no maid service/no soap.............

Nasty hotel

Would never stay here again even if I was paid a million dollars. The room was so small and smelled like dirt. Dominique who answers the phones is the rudest little girls. Never coming back.

Good location

Good location. Easy to walk to many attractions such as Navy Pier and the 'Bean'. Rooms could do with a make over but comfy.
