Great location/terrible facility

Pros: Staff was very sympathetic and responded to our request for room changes. Comped first night.
Cons: I guess you get what you pay for.
Location: Centrally located to Mag Mile shopping and restaurants.
Had to change rooms twice in one night.......first problem:mechanical room next door, loud humming sound. Second time next door to party central, changed rooms at 4 am......neighbors were eventually evicted. Hallway carpets were raggy and torn......no maid service/no soap.............

Nasty hotel

Would never stay here again even if I was paid a million dollars. The room was so small and smelled like dirt. Dominique who answers the phones is the rudest little girls. Never coming back.

Pros: Staff was friendly
Cons: Hotel is definitely in need of updates
Location: Great Location
Hotel was definitely a little on the rough side (worn furniture, stains on the carpet, peeling wallpaper etc...)

Conference

The hotel was close enough to the hotel where my conference took place, which was a plus. However, the area was very noisy and busy transpiring all of that noise all the way to the top floors. Overall, the area was too busy and made it difficult to have a good night rest.

Inexpensive, very conveniently located hotel

Pros: Great location just off Michigan Avenue
Cons: Room decor was quite dated
Location: We were able to easily walk to all around downtown from this central location
This was my first stay in this hotel. Basic accommodations was all I was looking for as I did plan to spend much time in the room other than shower and sleep and this fit the bill just right. I will return on future trips.

Great Location, Ok Room, Serious Billing Problems

Location is fabulous. Rooms are OK at best....small, outdated, uncomfortable matresses. It's suitable if you really want to be downtown and aren't spending a lot of time in the room. Worst part of the whole trip was when I realized I was overcharged by $155+ for a room that was supposed to be less than $90. I had to spend 3+ hours of my time trying to explain to 3 different people what had happened--all of whom couldn't answer why I had been overcharged, or when I would get a refund. Ridiculous. In short, great location, cheap prices, OK for sleeping, but closely monitor your card(s).

Wonderful Hotel

I was skeptical about staying at this hotel because of the wide range of reviews. I have stayed in many high-level, business-traveler hotels, and this one was as good as any. The location was half a block from the Magnificent Mile, and a short walk to the bridge across the river and all of the attractions near the Loop (Millennium Park, the art museum, etc.) The room was impeccably clean, the furniture was attractive, the bathroom was small but very adequate and the staff was simply wonderful -- helpful and very friendly. It's my go-to hotel in Chicago in the future.

Okay but...

Hotel location was perfect - block off Michigan and near to everything. Staff were great-accommodating and responsive. Rooms were small and bathroom was tiny but overall, sufficient for as much time as we spent in the room. Bed and linens were also fine. However, the hotel itself was tired and worn. Really in desperate need of an update. Carpet, wall coverings, furniture... If you are looking for a low price, convenient hotel, this is great. If you care about the quality, this is not for you.
