I stayed here on a weekly basis back in the 80's. It had been 40 years since I last stayed here, and it was great then. The lobby is still great, but that's it. Our room was horribly musty and dated, dirty towels in the closet, no coffee maker in the room, hair in the bathroom, pillows smelled like dirty feet. The lower level shops are all but gone. I will not stay here again.

Amazing location and near a lot so shopping and sites to see. Unfortunately, that is all. The hotel is old and dirty. Our room smelled so moldy and there was even mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Extremely small bathroom and the door was dirty and old. The shower curtain has yellow stains at the bottom. Just awful.

Don't recommend

Hotel is old and historic , the lobby area is beautiful I had high hopes for this hotel. We checked into our room which was right next to the elevator, so at night and early morning it was super loud. The room was very small, the bathroom was even smaller there was no counter space to put anything The room is definitely some TLC the paint on the doors was peeling away so was the wallpaper in bathroom. I was not impressed by the rooms at All they looked old and rundown We also found a pair of women's underwear that were left from the previous guest which gave me the ick because that tells me that the rooms were not cleaned properly. I probably would not stay here again

Nice but also disappointing

Hotel was lovely and centrally located. Bed was very comfortable. Cleaning service was not great. (They made the bed, took the dirty towels and didn’t tidy the room or empty the trash like other places do.) Main reason for 4 stars was the pool was totally out-of-service. This was one of, if not THE main reason I booked this hotel instead of another one. (This was for my daughter’s 10th birthday trip - just her and I - I had been saving for a long time so we could go all out, but since it was just her and I (mom), I didn’t want to be out late at night. So we pretty much got back after dinner at night, watched a movie and went to bed. - Anyone who has kids knows the pool is a huge highlight. What was most disappointing was the conceierge checked in with me and I expressed my frustration and my daughter’s disappointment, (there were tears)…I explained it would have been nice to get an email so we could have tried to book another hotel. All they said was that they were sorry for the inconvenience. I think it absolutely would have been appropriate in this circumstance after I took the time to explain how upsetting this was for my situation in particular to offer some money back.

The rooms outlets weren’t working. The tub was clogged and the safe in the room didn’t work. They tried to rectify the situation, but for $600 a night, it was not worth it. They said they couldn’t do anything about a discount because we booked through Expedia, so that was disappointing. Definitely needs some work.
