The Whitehall Hotel never ceases to impress me! I’ve been staying here since December 2019, and every visit has been a consistently exceptional experience. The hospitality is always warm, attentive, and genuine—something that’s hard to come by these days. Now that they’re under the Best Western Collection, the upgrades and added amenities beautifully complement the already outstanding service. It’s clear that the leadership team is committed to preserving the hotel’s charm while enhancing the overall guest experience. Tucked just off the Magnificent Mile, The Whitehall is truly a hidden gem in the heart of downtown Chicago. Whenever I’m in the River North area, there’s no question where I’m staying—it’s always The Whitehall. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a mix of elegance, comfort, and top-tier service!

Fresh Towels had pubic hair folder in the towel. Front door trash cans were overflowing with cigarette buds and trash debris. Room exterior window visibility was horrendous due to window filth and dirt. Only had broadcast local stations for tv, No ice machine located on floors, and no complimentary basic complimentary breakfast.No luggage porter to assist with luggage loading..

Cozy and Friendly Place to Stay

My daughters and I stayed at The Whitehall Hotel for their Spring Break. The hotel is at a perfect location. It is right across from 2 different malls and the 360 Tower. Many great restaurants within walking distance. We walked to a beach area that is also close by. Bus stop is just around the corner and runs straight to the Shedd Aquarium and Planetarium which we visited. Easier and much cheaper than trying to find parking by either location. Breakfast buffet was good. The hotel has an older look and feel but we prefer that because we like the warm homey feeling. The room was clean and had a mini fridge. We just had to ask for a microwave. Self parking is available at a parking garage across the street from the hotel. It is the garage of one of the malls across the street. This is if you want to come and go otherwise there is valet parking if you just leave your car (no in and out). The only thing that we disliked was the shower. There was barely any water pressure which made for longer than usual showers. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful during our stay. The girls want to definitely stay here again the next time we visit Chicago.

Checked in Thursday evening and had the nicest host greet us! I would suggest the king room over the queen- we updated and it made the BEST difference. Showers were a little short for my boyfriend but besides that fantastic stay and close to so many things! :)

I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The room had a terrible view, which was nothing like what was shown in the pictures. Even worse, the room was extremely dark, with almost no natural light and inadequate artificial lighting. It made the space feel gloomy and uncomfortable, especially in the evenings. For the price I paid, I expected a much better experience. I would not recommend this hotel and will not be staying here again.

Was NOT informed that one had to request maid service. Afterc2 days of no toilet paper, soap or coffee, which I didn’t understand is NOT separate from housekeeping… staff at desk were generally defensive about it. No eye contact, haughty, claiming “all the big hotels are doing this now…” uh, no they aren’t. Wiring in room had been redone so it was impossible to turn light off without disconnecting usb/outlets for charging. Engineer was unaware of the problem.
