Clean, Comfortable, and SO Convenient

My husband and I only live about an hour from this hotel, but we visit it because the staff are just outstanding and the location is incredibly convenient to just about everything. Chicago Theater, Joffrey Ballet, Millennium Park, Jewelers' Row and world class dining are all within very easy walking distance. The hotel is older and it could stand to be a little updated, but it's clean and did I mention the outstanding staff? Everyone we've ever met has been has been very kind and very helpful and we've noticed people tend to stay working there, visit after visit. Parking is an additional fee, but you have 24/7 in and out privileges for the duration of your stay in downtown Chicago. The place really is just a great value overall, especially when considering you're in the heart of a major world city.

My wife and I loved the vibe and the iconic look of the Staypineapple hotel. The staff let us check-in way early. Thanks morning staff. We were on the 7th floor and it was fairly quiet considering the city traffic below and the view was decent. Of course, a higher floor would mean a better view and more quiet. The only thing I would change, at least in the room I was in, would be to relocate the coffee maker, which completely blocked the lower left portion of the tv. Or you could raise the tv another foot. Thanks Staypineapple for a good start to our 8 day vacation.

Charged me for a lot of things that I didn’t receive. The staff was nice but the hidden fees* are something worth looking into. I left and was charged 100 for cookies and water even though the staff state it’s complimentary with your stay. I didn’t even eat the cookies at the hotel and I refilled my own water from the tap or walked to Walgreens to purchase this.

Good choice

Lovely hotel, very comfortable beds, quiet, good location. Offered a complimentary beer/wine but the bar was out of beers on tap and had only High Life and Heineken the four days we were there.

The wall of windows was a treat

Mother Daughter weekend trip to The Art Institute with some sightseeing. The location was fantastic. The hotel was beautifully restored and quite lovely. The wall of windows with a great view were a surprise. Beds and bedding were amazingly comfortable, towels were soft and decent size. Loved the duvets and assortment of pillows, it felt very luxurious. Water bottle and refill station was a very nice amenity. I read reviews of noise and other than the occasional siren, we had no issues with noise. Access to subway and blue line to O'hare were all on the same block. Walk time: The Bean was about 5 minutes, Art Institute and the Riverwalk were about 10 minutes. Couple of cons: An option for plus size robes would be nice. The TV had all sorts of issues from remote range of about 2 feet to casting issues. The casting did not work despite several devices, it was trying to grab TV's in another room. The limited cable options were constantly interrupted by other rooms trying to cast which would take over our TV. My amenity fees were waived due to this issue but the TV show catch-up we had planned was not possible which was disappointing. We used our drink vouchers at the bar, selections were very limited with only 1 beer option of Miller Light. Shout out to Cassandra and Shamon (I'm sorry if I butchered the spelling, new guy at front desk) pleasant, helpful and friendly. Overall, great stay, I would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Nice hotel - be aware of extra charges.

Excellent hotel with interesting amenities. Good customer service. Only complaint is a service charge (about $25) that showed up after I got home. Not charged through Hotels.com, billed directly from the hotel. When contacted , they said it was a “tax”.
