Great location to downtown. Hotel was nice but everything was controlled by an ipad and it made turning on and off the lights pretty annoying. Room was small but we didnt spend.much time in it. Bar was WAY overpriced. Drinks were about teipple that of any nearby bar or restaurant. Live muaic was cool.

Total upper mid euro style. Small rooms by US standards. All the fixtures were European. Duvets on the beds, which were very comfortable. Great location. Dining opportunities abound, 3 min from the riverwalk. The nearby area would be a bit dirty and noisy for some less city-oriented folks. I would definitely use on my next trip.

A dystopia without coffee

CitizenM is an attempt at creating a futuristic-themed hotel. Apparently, in the future, there will be no free coffee provided, the rooms will be the size of jail cells, one person will have to step over the other in the single bed in order to get to the bathroom, and the lighting system will be so confusing it should come with a 10 page manual. Oh, also there will be a video screen in the elevator flashing random psychedelic images, kind of like the treatment the lead character got in A Clockwork Orange. All of the signage addresses you as "Citizen," like you're in 1984. I found this particularly creepy. No one over 40 will get a kick out of this place. p.s. If they had at least provided free coffee, I wouldn't have written this review. Also the staff was nice.

It is a compact space- efficient property. Good but stiff king size bed, bathroom with a high quality shower. Love the windows and the tech associated features to it each room. amenities are early accessible. The bar and rooftop are awesome. Cleanliness is good. I guess it would’ve been nice to have an iron and coffee/kettle with a waters available in each room.

stayed here for the lollapalooza weekend and it was convenient to walk to the festival! the lobby floor was nice as there are lots of seating and a terrance lounge as well! lots of food places around the hotel!

Great unique place to stay while visiting Chicago. I loved all of the art in the lobby, dinning, and lounging areas. The vibe is very modern. As for the rooms, they were clean and well maintained. The ability to control everything from a tablet in the room was super cool too!

I love the amenities the hotel offers. Only thing that was challenging was the room not having an iron. There is a room that you can iron your clothes but it was an inconvenience.

Its close to everything. Some of the popular tourists spots are within a 20 minute walk. I didn't like that its one light switch for the whole room. ( you can't turn on the bathroom light without having the room light on. ) overall i would stay here again. Sidenote the room is functional size. And they over free luggage storage.
