Awesome hotel staff!

I had an issue with a constant banging noise in my room and the staff couldn’t have been any more apologetic! The hotel did compensate me without hesitation! I will definitely return because of this!

Recent Stay at Hyatt South Chicago

Pros: great views from room
Cons: let me upgrade to valet at check in.
Location: nice surrounding neighbourhood in parts for nice walks.
Upgraded to a corner room with views of lake and city, worth every penny. Booked through Travelocity and therefore they would not allow me to upgrade to valet, finding hotels love to throw "you booked through a third party" in your face as a means to not have to do something.

Bed was uncomfy. Food options were mediocre at best. All sorts of parties booked at the same time. Socialist Convention, Aau tourney and Warrior Games athletes. Too many people everywhere you go. Bathroom, bar, front desk. Just even being in the lobby was difficult.

Nice hotel close to all sites

Overall we had a great experience ... We arrived after check in time and were issued our room. When we got to the room, it was not ready. We were issued a new room and due to the inconvenience, they credited our account plus sent some room service our second night. True customer service! The hotel was nice, great location, view, and atmosphere was enjoyable. We will definitely stay again.

Pros: Close to the Field Museum.
Cons: Food service should be available at all times. The towels were poor quality.
Location: McCormack Plaza by museums. Lots of thinks to do!
Upon arrival, valet asked if we needed assistance with luggage. We said 'yet' and he had to go into hotel for a cart. He did not have with him? We were tired from the travel and going to eat in the restaurant. It was closed. Went to our room and ordered Room Service. It was closed. Went to bar and ordered a pizza. We ate out of a cardboard box with no dishes. We have visiting this hotel for 30 years and it was always just fine. We are gold card customers.

Chicago Marathon trip, perfect stay.

Pros: Location, staff, cleanliness, responsive to special requests.
Stayed with my daughter for marathon weekend. The staff was attentive and considerate of our needs, trying to keep those running the marathon together in the north tower to be respectful of our desire for quiet and rest the evening before the race, and allowing a late checkout post-race for those who needed it. I requested plastic bags (to create ice packs for my knees) after running the marathon, and the hotel staff provided them but went an extra step in providing instant cold packs for me as well. Prior to the event, the staff was helpful with suggestions for tourist things to do, places to eat, and very responsive with help for reservations and directions. I would love to run Chicago again, and would absolutely seek this hotel to stay again.

Overnight stay pleasant

Pros: Clean and pleasant.
Location: Decent walk to Soldier Field.
Valet parking - good. Check in - pain free. Room accommodation - comfortable. Room was supposed to have a lake view but not a very good one. Was satisfied with my overnight stay. Selected for proximity to Soldier Field and that made the reservation well worth it. Dinner through room service - exceeded my expectations. There was also a conference taking place, which made the hotel very busy.
