The room was so outdated. Peach & green 1980’s decor. And the room didn’t smell fresh, though it seemed clean. Staff was nice enough except for the initial check-in clerk who was a little brusque. The property has potential, just needs a refresh.

Wonderful hotel on the beach

Pros: Location on the beach, close to ultramar ferries to Isla Mujeres, staff, food -- all wonderful.
Cons: N/A
Location: It's in the Hotel Zone, close to other resorts. 15 min walk to ferry to Isla Mujeres.
When we booked the hotel, we weren't sure what to expect since there had been some mixed reviews. We got there, and had no problems with check in. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We got an ocean view, which was really nice as well. Our breakfast was included, and the spread was delicious. Only complaint is that the beans are cooked with pork and on our last day, the potato dish had chorizo in it -- not super friendly to vegetarians, though there were other options to eat. We were able to book a tour to Chichen Itza from the hotel's on-site travel department -- we paid a decent price and had a wonderful day trip -- definitely speak with them about excursions. The hotel also boasts a delicious lunch/snack area on the beach, as well as numerous lounge chairs by the ocean. On our last day, they were able to accommodate our late flight by giving us a half hour reservation in their courtesy room to shower from the beach before heading to the airport. Very friendly staff, wonderful stay. Would definitely come back.

Nice hotel with great beach

Pros: Location and beach are excellent.
Location: Buses stop by every 5 minutes and one can go to stores and other places easily. The hotel has a quiet beach, one of the best in Cancun
I have been to Casa Maya several times and I like it because of the white sand and quiet beach. However, last time I visited (May 24-28, 2017), the beach was overcrowded. Beaches are open to the public in Mexico, and now hundreds of people who live nearby and are not hotel guests are visiting this beach, often leaving plastic and other stuff behind. Otherwise it is a great hotel, one of the few that includes breakfast only and not a complete meal plan.

nice hotel

Pros: it is right on the beach, clean,
Cons: maybe just the water pressure in the shower.
Location: location is great. was really easy to get on the city bus and go down to restaurants and other shopping. thedre are lots of things close by to do.
stayed at Casa Maya on a friends recommendation, for an older hotel it is very clean and well kept. The bed was comfortable. I enjoyed my stay. next time i go back to Cancun I would stay here again.

Disappointed"

Pros: Only thing I really did enjoy was having breakfast, those at the breakfast dinning room attending to us, food and atmosphere. Great!! staff
Cons: Everything. New management, staff, restaurants, Room towers, Rooms, furnishing, décor. Needs lots of maintenance
Location: Nothing much very boring dull location. There wasn't anything really near by very disappointing.
Upon arrival our check in guest experience was awful took way too long, we were the only group there. I mean its Cancun we're talking about and you're located on the hotel zone so I think you could use some real improvement. Room towers and rooms themselves were really outdated. Worst thing of all food and drinks end way too early. Staff was somewhat rude made me feel very unwelcomed. Overall I felt very unappreciated as a guest at this location. Oh and by far the greatest disbelief and disappointment was the call reminding you that check out is at 11. Really you're rushing your guest out, I've stayed in fancier more high end places than this hotel and never have I received a call saying reminder check out is at 11 after that there are charges. I sure wont be returning here again no thanks Casa Maya

Almost at the End of Strip

Pros: Always greeted with a smile
Cons: A shuttle service vice taxi might be something to look at.
Location: At the end of the Hotel Strip but close by bus to major sites and shopping areas.
Almost perfect weather, food exceptional at the hotel, waiters very polite and not overwhelming, the hotel a little dated but maintained. Everything your need and want is located at the hotel or a short bus ride away.

It was centralized to everything beaches and store

Cant really complain . It was a relaxing and quit week my family and I spent. The food and service was nice. I guess the only bad thing I didn't like, was that every time we turned of the air conditioner in the room it would smell like mildew or something similar to it. Over all we had a great time .

Very Nice Hotel

Pros: Everything
Cons: Could stand a face lift
Location: The beach, pools. tennis, For anything else take the local buses which are very cheap and run freaqently
The suite though a bit dated was large and comfortable the beach was great and the hotel staff were first class. This hotel will be our first choice an our next vacation in Cancun. The breakfast buffet was so so good.
