Food options not the best. Wipe down and sanitation is not high as other resorts that I've experienced. No room service for food like other resorts. Air conditioning cooling system not the best. Hotel was great at providing an upgrade to accommodate for inconvenience. This was a family resort. Perhaps an adults only may have better options.

This Riu was a big disappointment from the riu palace peninsula. The food was terrible, went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and it was a huge cockroach in the sink. The next day there was another roach on my kids shoe. I should’ve known when I checked in and the guy said “oh that riu, the nice one”. The pool area was fun and those hosts were good. Overall I definitely will not be back to this hotel. Shaking all of our clothes and bags out to make sure we weren’t taking home any unwanted guests was disgusting.

Please let us recommend you to visit the Riu Class website, for advantages and discounts for its members. All our hotels fulfil the international hygienic norms. For example, the bed cloth and towels are washed and dried according to the correct temperature limits as set out by general hygiene instructions. Though we manage a proper fumigation program for all our areas, it is unfortunate that we are unable to control insects at 100%. Due to the warm weather and the location of our resort, which is surrounded by vegetation, it is possible that insects can enter our facilities. We work hard to keep them under control, since our grounds have garden areas. We fumigate continuously all areas to keep insects away from our grounds. Therefore, it is saddening to read that despite our efforts, we were not able to avoid this discomfort. Furthermore, we try to meet the taste of every guest with our wide selection of dishes at our buffet and restaurants which are prepared daily with the utmost care and using fresh ingredients. The resort staff were wonderful! The atmosphere was fun. Wish there was pool side food/snack options (without having to dress and mask inside). Masking indoors and to order at outdoor bars wasn’t fun. Entertainment team was phenomenal! Facilities well-maintained, although a bit dated. No room service is a bummer. Gym is in desperate need of repairs and updates. Large food selection on buffet.

I like the cleanliness of the property, it is very spacious, accessibility to downtown shopping and dining. The staff is amazingly friendly and accommodating to guests needs. I did not like a few aspects of the property such as: there is no coffee in the rooms (which was very important for us), there is no wine in the rooms which is important to a guest who does not drink the beverages offered in the room. I did not like the fact that when I requested a bottle of wine, it was suggested that I pay for it (all inclusive resort). I did not like the lack of room service again for a 5 star resort. I did not like the fact that there are only 3 restaurants available apart from the buffet, and the restaurants were not even open every day or have any available seating. the buffet however, was very good but again I am on vacation and would like dining service.

This is is not a 4 star hotel. Even a 3 is a stretch. The staff was all very friendly, attentive and helpful. The hotel is starting to become dated. And there is disrepair. Our curtains had little tears in them. There were broken beach chairs, they were dirty. Despite there being people constantly mopping, the grounds had a lot of empty glasses and cigarette butts (on the ground) all over. They say they have multiple restaurants. They don’t. What they have is one buffet area shared by multiple seating sections. They call each of these rooms something different and claim they are separate restaurants. Same food though. They do have one Italian and on Japanese restaurant that are only open for dinner and on alternating nights. Food is essentially the same every day and it’s not very good. We found ourselves going out for food about half the time. The way the building is situated most of the grounds by the pool and beach are covered with shade by 2 ish. Very few bathrooms, they were far apart. The hotel room floors felt very industrial and very echoey and loud. The doors were metal and slammed so every time someone came or went you heard it. The time-share sales people were on site but not aggressive or in our face. We were happy about that. There were plenty of bars throughout so never had to wait in line long. Nightly entertainment was fun. Different every night. Talented performers. Located in a nice area.
