The location and the rooms were fantastic. The bartenders at the swim up bar in the adults only pool were amazing. Agustin and Roberto were very attentive and always had our drinks ready.

I really liked that there was a bus stop right outside the hotel. You can pay $1 to get you to any destination on the hotel strip. The hotel staff was so nice and the hotel itself was clean. They were doing construction while we were there which was a bummer, but I do know once that is complete the hotel will be beautiful. It’s walkable to the beach and you can use the beach cabanas!

Grand Park Royal Cancun - A Detailed Review
The Grand Park Royal Cancun is an excellent choice for its prime location on the stunning Playa Blanca Cancun and the exceptional quality of its staff. Service: The staff at this hotel were generally, attentive, and genuinely warm. Their dedication to creating memorable moments is exceptional. Facilities: The hotel boasts two main pools, although one was under construction during our visit, which impacted the overall experience significantly. A standout highlight was the room service, included as part of the all-inclusive package Our swim-up room was spacious, well-equipped with essentials like irons and hair dryers, and meticulously cleaned daily. However, some aspects of the décor felt dated. Dining: The hotel offers five restaurants, each with its own charm. The oriental Koi restaurant and flora del Sol were our favourite. Challenges: Construction Work: The extensive renovations, including the main pool and beachfront restaurant, were not communicated prior to arrival. This was disappointing, and the front desk staff seemed dismissive of concerns. Future guests should be informed of such disruptions or offered compensation. Nothing was offered to us despite 12 hours of non stop drilling outside our room. Conclusion: The Grand Park Royal Cancun offers a beautiful beachfront location, exceptional staff, and standout perks like all-inclusive room service that elevate the experience. However, the ongoing construction detracted from the enjoyment. Rating: 3.5/5

Property is undergoing major renovations. One tower is fully gutted/being rebuilt; and the entire main pool complex is not usable either. Adult pool is open for everyone. That being said, the premium tower we stayed in had amazing beach front views, and was far enough from the construction that it wasn’t super intrusive. The resort has wonderful staff and service. Our VIP butler Yajahira was fabulous—booking restaurants and beach cabanas for us and helping plan excursions. Food is average for an all inclusive; the buffet was hit or miss, but we really enjoyed the Italian and Asian themed restaurants. Would probably stay here again once the construction is finished.

There is a giant construction happening at the hotel which was not disclosed anywhere. The pool is closed, half of the restaurants are closed, it’s loud from 8am to 8pm so you can’t even open the balcony door to enjoy the views. Food is terrible and extremely limited. Service is also bad. Very understaffed hotel with huge lines everywhere, from check-in to restaurants.

Very disappointed. I’m mad we stayed at this property. The construction was obnoxious and such an inconvenience. We didn’t know there would be construction on the pool OUTSIDE OF OUR ROOM. So loud and so ugly to look at. We would’ve chosen a different property had we known. Also the food was so gross. I’m not even picky but it was terrible. Me and my husband didn’t like most of the food there.

The main pool was closed for remodeling with nonstop noise from construction crew yet no compensation was offered. The hotel is very outdated and the food is not great. The concierge tried to trick me into believing we would get a certificate for free future stay for the inconvenience when really it was to try to to get me to go to the breakfast to listen to the timeshare spill. I did not accept therefore the certificate was not honored even though she said it was for “the inconvenience”.

We had a great stay at the Grand Park Royal - it was just what we needed. We enjoyed the different restaurant options, and our Butler Miguel was incredibly attentive to our needs and requests. The entertainment was fun, the pool foam party karaoke were highlights. We were a little disappointed to find out that the main pool pizza restaurant were completely under renovation, as well as many of the apartments onsite. The construction noise was a lot during the day, both in the rooms and on the beach. The Adult Only pool was the only pool available. We were not disappointed in the Renovations themselves, but the fact that no one had told us or prepared us for it. We expected to have access to the main pool and pizza, but it was completely under construction All in all, a great place and great service. Lots of good people go to this resort, we are glad that we did too :)

I paid extra for the swim up room and when I arrived they said they couldn't give it to me because my son wasn't 18 but it wasn't noted anywhere prior. The main pool was under construction so we were stuck mini a tiny pool in the back of the hotel and again it isn't noted anywhere that the main pool is under construction. Horrible experience.

Disappointing Experience Despite Nice Amenities Our experience at this hotel was disappointing. It looks stunning online, but we were surprised upon arrival. We paid extra for a swim-up room, only to find heavy construction right in front of our room that woke us up every morning. Despite our complaints, they refused to change our room. After flying in tired and hungry from the States, the front desk staff sat us down to sell us additional services for over an hour, even though we repeatedly said we weren’t interested and just wanted to rest and eat. The bellhop mishandled our airport shuttle reservation, and when we asked for help, they tried to upsell us on an overpriced taxi instead of resolving the issue. We ended up booking an Uber ourselves. The concierge’s dismissive response—"wait in line"—was particularly frustrating. To be fair, the service staff, such as the waiters, were fantastic, and the food, amenities, and overall service were good. However, the front desk and sales team ruined what could have been a great stay. I recommend looking elsewhere; there are plenty of better options in the area.
