This hotel has a beautiful pool and beach, but the hotel room could have been a little cleaner. Our toilet had stains, and the bathroom walls could have used a wipe down. But stunning views, and friendly and helpful staff.

My wife and I had a pleasant stay at Riu Caribe. The only reason why the staff was not rated Excellent was due to the pool pizza bar cook and server. The cook completely ignored me, and the server was rude.

The bed was very hard and uncomfortable, in addition, there were several stains, hair, and other particles in my sheets upon my arrival. They were supposedly changed and still did not appear to be clean. The overall room was just not clean to include: bathroom, floors, dressers, curtains, balcony, etc. My boyfriend never complains, EVER. this was not a good first time out of the country experience for him.

This hotel was so bad we were sent to their other hotel Riu Cancún for an “upgrade”. Riu Cancún was worst then the first resort! No way this resort can be a 5-star! First off the room they gave my husband and I had two beds instead of the king size bed we booked for. We were told they couldn’t give us a king size bed for us to sleep together in so for the whole vacation my husband and I had to sleep in seperate beds. Then the food was horrible and sent us to the bathroom everytime. The resorts idea of entertainment was a young kid beat boxing with his mouth and kids jumping rope wearing neon colored clothing! I spent the entire vacation which cost me about $2k waiting to get back home because the resort was so horrible!!! Oh! And the ceiling fan fell on us while we were sleeping! ... in our separate beds!!! Never again will spend my good money on ANY RIU RESORT!!! All I heard was I’m sorry but there’s nothing we can do it accommodate you! Please do urself a favor and stay somewhere else, unless eating hot dogs and chips is okay with u after 10:30pm every night because this all the resort offered till the morning breakfast. And the pool was filthy everyday. This place again was a nightmare!

Our hotel stay was great overall. The staff was friendly and helpful. The main buffet had the best service & food. Everyone there was outstanding. Every restaurant was a buffet though. It would’ve been nice to have one place to dine by menu without limited options. María Margarita’s had bad service. That is our only complaint. We waited 30 minutes to be seated in a very vacant restaurant. There were plenty of open tables. The server took a long time to help us and kept forgetting our drink orders.

Great hotel staff

We stayed for 5 days. The hotel staff was great and friendly. Ocean view room had a great view. The only complaint I could think of would be that the food wasn't amazing and the alcohol was cheap brands. Overall, we had a great time!

Staff was AMAZING!!!! Rooms need an upgrade

Pros: The pool area and private beach was my favorite
Cons: the rooms and beds need to be upgraded
The hotel staff was AMAZING!! Luis was our housekeeping attendant and he was absolutely amazing! Our room was always very clean and he always had a great smile on his face and made sure to say good morning to us with a smile. The rooms definitely need an upgrade. New beds! those beds were so uncomfortable! they need a new paint job for sure! all of the staff there was great! the pool area and the rest of the facilities are great. I wish the parking was a little bigger but i understand that most people do not drive around in Cancun. Also the entertainment was fun too!

It was my first gateway in Cancún . Best experience I could ever get. Hotel was super clean. Staff super friendly and very kind. I would recommend Riu Peninsula to all my friend. Who wants family vacation with their kids, for every occasion this hotel is best choice .

The staff was quite rude, one member told me it was “weird” I was traveling alone. A host at a restaurant wouldn’t seat me because I was one person. When I called the front desk to tell them this, the girl laughed at me. Upon check out, I wasn’t asked how my stay was, she was only interested in cutting my bracelet. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Excellent beach spot...

The beach was perfect . Calm blue waters. Easy access. Nice pools. The food was bad. Staff was blah. Entertainment was bad.
