Best Hotel I have ever been too.

Pros: They go above and beyond with everything they do, a true 5 star hotel. The food options were excellent.
Cons: Housekeeping comes a bit late. A few times we would go back to our room around 4pm and the rooms were still not touched.
Location: Great location with lots right around.
This is our 5th time to Cancun and this hotel is by the best Hotel we have ever stayed in.

Definitely a Riu Palace.

Excellent experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and engaging, and it never felt phony. The food and drink lived up to the hype, and the entertainment was fun too. Wonderful place to relax in a variety of ways and plenty of active options. Easy access to downtown and ferries to Isla Mujeres for a break from your break. Protip: absolutely order a medium-rare steak from the Steakhouse specialty dinner restaurant (and request some surf with your turf).

The house keepers are thiefs!!!

Il never stay here again. They stole 500 dollars from me. I forgot to leave my money in the safe one day but I also didn't leave it out in the open. I left it in my pant pocket and the house keeper looked thru my clothes ! They usually leave a card with the name of the house keeper on a card and they didn't leave nothing nor did they finish cleaning the room. I've been to Cancun many times and I've never had this happen to me at any resort I've stayed at. Don't stay here! Also , the managers are very rude to the workers and treat them with tasteless demeanor. No one should be treated how this hotel treats its employees. Truly disappointing.

A great location

If you want the beach, food, shopping and a great night life this is the place to stay. I could find no problems with any part of my stay. If you want to see the history of this area (Yucatán-- Xhe-ha or Chichen itza) then you should stay a couple of hours south of this hotel. I booked tours for these places and spent MANY boring hours on buses and was rushed through the tour because of the distance involved. It was wasted time but NO complaints about the RIU Peninsula.

A short vacation stay

Pros: the cleaness of the environment. the courtesy of the staff.
Cons: - The front desk is a little bit slow in handling the customer. - The food in the buffet areas is somewhat over-cooked.
It is a well-planned college reunion trip. Very excited participants with every one's immediate family, including kids. the hotel stay is a very pleasant experience, especially to me when I travelled from the early winter of the New England to such a sunny tropical wonderland. The staff is polite and facility is clean.

Excellent - would definitely return

Pros: Food, rooms, beach and activities
Cons: They really need a business center where we can access a computer and a printer. They need to accommodate somehow getting some smaller bills
Food, service, facility and activities were all excellent. The only issue we had was that it was impossible to get any of our larger bills changed to make it easier to tip the excellent staff. The hotel is shorting their staff as I couldn't even get a $100 bill changed into either pesos or US currency. Other than that we had a blast!!!

Pros: Food, ease of walking around...
Cons: Bedding/room furniture.
Beautifully maintained property. Beach was gorgeous. The water on nice weather days was calm. Saw fish swimming near the rocks. The rocks actually give this location so much more than just a flat beach. Being from Calif. having rocks on beach is a nice thing. The food was amazing. Even room service was good (although limited) still sufficient. Stayed on 2nd floor and still had an AMAZING view. I traveled w/ my three children 19, 14 & 2-1/2, and this place was great for all of us. We went to Riu art, and some of the shows..They were good. I really feel like this place is great for all ages. But not much for my 2 yr old other than the beach, but that's okay w/me. The only thing they lacked was nicer bedding, and some better furniture. But I can't complain because our rooms were clean. Furniture can use an upgrade, but I wouldn't trade it off for anything else! Because everything else was perfect, and the rooms were comfortable. I was so concerned about the food and my kids. Not one of them ever got sick. The sodas were always given in bottles, and not in ice. Their mixed drinks were amazing. We loved the coffee place and went there almost everyday. Make sure you get an iced coffee. YUM..
