Stay away! The place in pics and videos looks great because they were from when it was first opened. This place needs A LOT of repairs. Then to make matters worse- the reception and restaurant staff are disrespectful and rude. I wanted to be as detailed as possible to help other travelers therefore this is a long one. In short- we only survived 2 night there then had to move to another hotel as it was not a suitable place to stay. The other people staying there were also talking about leaving, accepting their losses and moving to more accommodation hotel. It feels like they are used to people leaving, there are no refunds and whether you stay or leave they still are their money.
The Roof/top floor
The roof is not accessible, there'd no safe pool access, the tiles and flooring are in need of repair, there's no rooftop bar either, it falling apart and a dangerous place to be in.
Bottom level and common areas:
The bottom level is also in need of repair, the walkways are falling apart, the garbage cans in the walkways are broken and filled with trash. There are about 4 parking spot right infant of the entry. If those are taken you will need to park down the street at the other metal door entry but first you need to go to the entry way, so that someone can ope the other gate for you. You get back in your car, go down the road make a U-turn then to the other gate and hopefully someone has made it there to open the metal gate for you. You then walk on either the inside of the hotel or on the street.
Restaurant:
Walked in to the restaurant on the 2nd floor, the person there looked at us then walked away. We walked over to the bar/prep area to ask if they were taking customers since it was empty and the worker walked away from us. They didn't even look at us and simple said yes. We asked if we needed to wait to be seated or not. They moved their hand a to brush us away (like when you're trying to get a fly out of your way). We took that as a way to mean to sit down. We went to sit. The worked comes over to us and literally asked us,"What do you want?" No menu, no hello. We tried to be polite, smiled and kindly asked for a menu so that we could decide what to order. Several minutes later, they return and drop the menu on the table. It wa so uncomfortable we thanked them for their time then walked away.
Beach Area:
Some chairs are dirty, some are broken, the side table are dirty, the decor is falling apart and needs repairs, there's a crocodile that swims back and forth on the small beach area, there is no warning sign to keep guests safe and not really an area that can be used by guests.
Check-in experience and reception staff:
As soon as we walked in we said hello, gave them some treats we had brought for them and in Spanish explained they were treats for them and the staff (we had brought several treats to share) as is our custom. Not a thank you, ignored us, then after standing there a few minutes they asked for our name. Gave us our room #, key, and then we walked over to our room. We noticed the towels were stained, dirty and the air conditioning was not working. We walked over to the reception area and explained the situation while also asking for a room change. They gave us some towels from a plastic bag, said someone would come over regarding the air conditioning and told they don't do room changes. We asked for a fan and told the hotel does not use them therefore none are available. After waiting an hour for maintenance person we checked back in w/ reception staff. They said they had already called someone and within minutes they would arrive. Waited another hour (2hrs total), and no maintenance. We decided to go purchase a fan to make it a little more comfortable. Upon our return we noticed a big fan in the lobby. Went to the room and still- the air conditioner had not been repaired. It had been 7 hours and still nothing. We checked in with the new receptionist person and was told everyone had already left and nobody was available. Next day requested maintenance again and we were told someone would go and make repairs. After a long day of traveling you want to relax but we re on our second day there and still no relaxing as it was too hot, We went to the restaurant to try to get something to eat while we waited for maintenance and you can read above about that experience.
When we arrived that evening and saw no repairs were made, we decided we had enough. We booked another place to stay and left.
In all, stay way. The service and condition of this place is truly horrible.
