If you are planning a trip to San Antonio and are looking for a convenient neighborhood to base yourself in, check out Alamo Plaza. You will find Alamo Plaza 0.1 miles (0.2 kilometers) to the north of central San Antonio.

While San Antonio is celebrated for the iconic attraction, the Alamo, it also has a wide range of other excellent tourist spots, including the Six Flags Fiesta Texas and San Antonio Zoo and Aquarium.

Make sure you add the Rivercenter Mall to your list of plans while in Alamo Plaza, as it's one of San Antonio's more popular visitor attractions.

Alamo Plaza has a range of hotels and other accommodation options, but you and your friends might enjoy staying within the vicinity of both the Pearl Brewery and the Market Square. Make a choice from the Omni La Mansion del Rio and Hilton Palacio Del Rio to stay a short distance from the Pearl Brewery, or the Hotel Contessa - Luxury Suites on the Riverwalk and Embassy Suites San Antonio Riverwalk-Downtown to be closer to the Market Square.

Alamo Plaza has one or two inexpensive accommodations to choose from. The TownePlace Suites by Marriott San Antonio Downtown and Crockett Hotel are excellent choices.

"Our tv did not work. Called on it and no one came to look at it. I was able to fit in our toilet, but if I was anyone else in my family, not so much. May need to make a small sink cabinet in there. Very time space for taking care of your business…"

"My check in was at 3:00 but I arrived two hours early and Ms. Michelle help me to get in a room I could check in early in. She was pleasant to speak with and the rest of the stuff was also respectful and helpful too. They made sure I had everything I needed while on my trip."

"I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. Upon arrival, my room was not ready, despite checking in at the scheduled time. After waiting, I was finally given a room that had an overwhelming bleach smell, making it very uncomfortable to stay in. The room did not feel fresh or properly prepared for guests. The pictures online definitely do not match the actual rooms. The room looked much older. To make matters worse, the air conditioning barely worked and could not maintain a comfortable temperature. The room remained uncomfortable throughout my stay, and it was clear that maintenance issues had not been properly addressed. What was most frustrating was the lack of customer service. Hospitality starts with customer service, and unfortunately this hotel failed in that area. Guests should feel welcomed, valued, and respected, but that was not my experience. Based on the poor service I received, I would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to others. For the price paid, this experience was completely unacceptable. Between the room not being ready, the strong chemical odor, the malfunctioning air conditioning, and the unhelpful staff, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay."

"I have been a loyal guest of JW Marriott and visit the San Antonio property regularly. However, during my most recent stay, I was surprised to see that a large portion of the pool loungers now require an additional upgrade or reservation fee. In the past, only the cabana area required an upgrade, which seemed fair and reasonable. This time, however, it appeared that nearly a third of the standard loungers in the common pool area were also reserved for upgraded guests. Considering that room rates have already increased significantly, I found this change disappointing. One of the attractions of staying at a resort of this caliber is having access to its amenities without feeling that more and more areas are being restricted behind additional fees. I have always enjoyed staying at this property and hope management will reconsider this policy, as it negatively impacts the overall guest experience."
